Taunting penalty.....

Sorry if already discussed, but who here thinks the penalties on both teams for taunting is absolutely stupid ??
I feel it's going to screw us on a final drive in a game.
Ex. Some Ref who doesn't like our team will throw one on a 3rd down stop and extend the drive for say, the Cowboys, to go down a kick a last second field goal.
I get you want to curtail to over the top taunting, but those just seemed trivial.

I hate the penalty... But it is easily one of the more avoidable penalties they have. Just dont do it.

I can't stand subjective penalties.
I've always believed players should be allowed to say whatever they want to each other during the game.
Only throw a flag if someone initiates contact, either with any part of their body or another object (football, towel, mouth guard, etc.)
Make it black/white as opposed to a ref throwing a flag whenever they "feel" a player crossed the line.

It's a team sport. If you can't deal with that I suggest golf or tennis. Discipline is a vital aspect of this game.

I think unless it is obviously out of line they should let shite go.

I'm okay with the trash talking after. The only taunting penalty I hate is when a player stands over the other player he just nailed, not because of what he just did, but because he usually gets burnt for a long play the very next play
