reading all these free agent signings with other teams and knowing the saints can't be players is frustrating. All they will be able to do is get the crumbs of what is left. They can't afford anything else that is out there. It could hurt this team moving forward.

well... keeping lattimore, Ramczyk, and Marcus Williams should make us happy enough.

Besides a guy like Kenny Golladay, who out there could the Saints drop big money on that would really move the needle?

Hard pass. Let’s look towards the draft and improve that way.

We don't need any "top" free agents.

But we do need to make some depth moves at some point.

The good thing is there should be some bargains this year.

Meh...just be happy we are able to hold on to what we had mostly....the young core players at least. The future is bright. We have multiple picks to retool the areas where we were depleted. Just need to hit on some of our picks. Honestly if you asked me to predict where we would be when Brees decided that he was going to retire I would have thought we would have been much worse. Pretty impressive considering the team went “all-in” to maximize Bree’s window of opportunity.

Besides, though we have had some luck recently, overall we have had far more misses in the free agent market than we have had hits. That sucks worse than a missed draft pick considering how costly a miss on free agents can be (see Jarius Byrd, Colby Fleener, etc).

we are already a super bowl contender with the talent we’ve kept and we have a chance to load up in the draft

1) We spend money to sign top FAs and people complain.

2) We max out our cap every year and people complain.

3) We shift money around to sign now and pay later and people complain.

4) All so we can try to chase a Super bowls during a HOF QBs twilight years and people complain.

We can't afford top FAs one off-season because of 1-4 and people complain.

What top free agents have we missed out on? This has been one of the most boring and unimpressive free agent class in quite some time. Also most are settling for 1 year deals to cash in on the salary cap going up next year.

The teams that usually sign the most free agents and "win" free agency tend to always suck.

Smartly-priced role players to fill gaps around their studs. Yes, that really sucks.

So could giving huge contracts to players that will get released in 2-3 years

When do the Saints ever sign the top free agents?

The salary cap ain't got a thing to do with it. The Saints mostly refuse to overpay for players, which is typically what happens with the top free agents. They wait a week not two for things to settle and then find the value guys who have less demand due to the flurry of FA signings the first week or so.

Skip on the top FA. Theres a few CB that can be had for cheap along with a WR like Will Fuller who should be able to get for really cheap coming off his steroids.

I would rather just protect our house this offseason.

Keep those we have to keep

Wish we would have kept Brown and Jack Rabbit.

I think we sign 1 more CB (besides PJ) and a LB at the least, then maybe try for some bargain DL and WR.

Yup. After final cuts in camp there will be young and old vets alike looking for work and can add depth at a below market price.

Unless we hit it big again in the draft and UDFA's I think we will be busy after cuts.

Man we better hit on the picks in this draft. We only have Demario at LB. We got no #2 WR again and our corners are terrible. And our d-line depth is down.

Top free agents often underwhelm for way too much money.
