re: Sports Talk on WWL sucking lately

Is 1280 still up? I checked a few times today and seemed like R&B streaming across it. I would really miss Mike and Mike in the am. Plus it's something else to listen to.

I have no problem with Deke, but I can't stand lisetning it Bobby Hebert. Plus I am in agreement that the show quality has sucked lately.

Eric Asher(local) is good, gets piised about the state of politics. I am waiting for him to have a heart attack on air. He is very passionate.

Kaare Johnson- Smug provocateer. Has great ideas(according to him). Also cannot stand anyone who lives on the Northshore "the selfish Northshore". Blames all who moved or live in Jeff or St.Tammany for the problems with New Orleans. Reference the White flight of the 60,70,80's. To be fair he does complain about NOLA people, but always circles back to the evil people on the northshore and Metairie.

Kaare Johnson and Eric Asher actually have a good show on Saturday(11-1pm?)... but that's the only time I have listened to 690. with 1280 no longer carrying sports, only so much of 99.5 I can handle and WWL becoming completely unlistenable, I may have to tune into (tix?) more.

I like Asher on Saturday talkingsports. Kaare just spews crap in a whiey voice.

Did you hear Kaare's interview with Eddie Price? What a softball game. I guess he is suppose to be jouralist, but it turned into a love session with Eddie. "Eddie is a city boy" "your Dad was a great athlete for Tulane" "hey man people make mistakes" he reinforced all the bad stuff he bitches about on the radio. He lost whatever bit of credibility he had with me. I look at him as being part of the problem now.

Maybe I'm the only one who think so but I have stopped listening at all since Deke took over fulltime sports duty. I can't stand the way the guy talks and his knowledge of sports is not great.

870 has to understand that Saints football is their priority. I don't want to hear Bobby Hebert talking about the NBA playoffs or draft. If I want to hear that crap I'll watch the 190 hours of coverage from the NBA experts on ESPN. I want Saints football and that's what they used to do year round on 870 with Bobby, Kenny and Hokie.

Does anyone really want to hear Deke and Bobby talking about friggin NASCAR?

People like you are why New Orleans sucks as a sports market. We have an NBA team that was IN THE PLAYOFFS and you'd rather them be talking about the Saints? Sheesh.
