I don't think Drew Brees is bad.

People are acting like all of a sudden we don't need WRs because we are a running team

We should not be a running team. I am totally down for 09 balanced, but we still need receivers.

We have WR's...and RB's and TE's. All of those are utilized by CSP in the passing game. I was concerned about depth at the position too but they obviously have a lot of confidence in the guys they have at WR and expect Spiller, Hill, and Watson to be big part of the passing game too.

09 WR's were world beaters I suppose?

lets see

#1 IN Prime Colston v. Post Prime Colston
#2 Devery v. Cooks (if cooks can be every i will be fricking ecstatic)
#3 Meachum v. ..........
#4 Lance Moore v. ..........

and before you go "Spiller and Hill and Watson duuuunuur"

We had Reggie Bush, Pierre Thomas Shockey, and David Thomas on that team. Even if we get equal production out of them we are still own.

We can't act like we didn't lose our 2 best receivers because we clearly did.

No.

No we can't or shouldn't act like we didn't lose our two best receivers. Not at all.

But thats not whats being debated here.

Seahawks made the SB this year with all UDFAs at WR I think.

I know Brees makes receivers better and an improved oline and better running attack will also help passing game, but man I wish we would sign a veteran WR. I mean damn we are going in with a lot of questions at that position. I will fap all day long if Brandon Coleman steps up. I was so pumped after we got him last year as rookie free agent. He looked like Calvin Johnson in those Rutgers highlights.

I lost a bet because I was 100% sure we would sign a FA veteran and a bit bigger sized WR.

their team is based on having a killer running game to back up a monster defense.

we don't have with of those things.

Running game will be very good this year and the defense has a lot of talent now.

We're not in bad shape in those areas.

Cooks is already better than Devery ever was. Cooks is much more versatile and an outstanding route runner. He could honestly end up being an Antonio Brown type of talent. That's who he reminds me of

Running game was solid last season even with a shitty o line. O line has been improved and it appears there is a change in philosophy with Payton wanting to run more to take pressure off of an aging Brees.

A name I think we all forgot because he got injured is Austin Johnson. He was actually looking very good as a receiver out of the back field before going down.
