Saints 2013 Stats

12 targets for Toon, 4 catches. 33%
Sure it's only a dozen targets, but damn.

Gallette and Jordan combine for 24.5 sacks for 184 yds lost.

Corey White had 7 passes defensed...tied with Vaccaro and only second behind Lewis.

Graham was targeted 142 times. Pierre Garcon led the league with 184 targets.

I feel like you should have to pass a test to be able to discuss Corey White in this board.

Me too. I don't know what big problem everyone has with him. He played well for the most part once in for Greer. He will be in year 3, and full time starter. He will be a fine No.2 CB.

If not him, then Robinson.

We have talent.

Oh, I do think he's gone through some growing pains, but I'm not a White hater.

Similar to White I don't get the amount of hate for Prob.
I thought he flashed SOME skills to be a #2 CB. I remember that he would be on his guy very well but didn't have the timing to turn and pick up the ball at the end. He would be right on the guy and in good position but never turn or have the timing down to swipe at the ball. Anyone else remember it that way?
Now 2012 was a abortion all around and then he gets hurt to start 2013.
I'm just hoping he's been healthy and having a good off season coming into his last year.

I can't say I fully trust him to cover the 2 receiver. I keep thinking about what Anquan Boldin did to him.

I love the kid though, he's definitely an asset.

I'm not a White supremacist either, but let's all remember that he came from Samford, was drafted by the Saints and he's still on the team! Did you hear me?! The Saints actually drafted a decent cornerback!

I'm not really hating on corey white but what does this stat mean without targets?

It was clearly evident that opposing QB's were going to live and die by Corey White bc the guy on the other side was so much better; Nnamdi syndrome. Is there a site that shows ow many times a cb's man was targeted? or how many time they were beaten on their assignment?

I have faith with the kid though, he's been thrown into the fire especially considering his history. He DEFINITELY has skills playing the ball in the air; his issue is being there to use them, something I'm sure comes with time and learning wr's subtle little tricks to get create space. He also is a decent tackler. I wish he would have been afforded the nickel position for another year.

remember what Anquan Boldin did as a Raven during their post season run in 2012?

or how he ripped Green Bay's secondary a new one in first game with the 49ers?

dude is still a solid WR.

what tripped me out in that game against the 49ers was Corey White's interception and subsequent fumble that rolled out of the endzone for a touchback.

I lost it on that play!!!!!!

I'm glad we won that game, I wanted that one badly.

He was thrown into a bad situation his rookie year with spagnuolo as coach. He was a late round pick, and it definitely wasn't the plan for him to see as much play time as he did. There were growing pains.

Also, I think that DB's frequently get more hate than they should. A lot of the time, you hear their names when a play goes against them and not when they force the QB to throw to another option.
