Drew Brees would have so many more passing yards if he took more shots down the field.

Passes for 4 yards or fewer:

Super Bowl rings: 1

What a fricking shame. We've wasted such a great talent.

All that does it make Marino more impressive to me

Marino is what brees would be if he didn't win in 2009.

Brees still has a damn good touch with his deep ball, I imagine with an improved right guard and healthy OL we'll see more deep shots. One reason why brees checks down is our line does not block well, we had to adjust the offense to account for that.

Here's some. In weeks 10 and 11, when just one win would have put us in the driver's seat for a playoff spot.

0 Touchdowns
6 Interceptions
1 offensive TD in two weeks....

Brees sure did pad his stats in meaningless games this year but at the end of the day we had a good enough defense to sniff the playoffs and we didn't. Brees gets one more chance in 2017 and if we don't make the playoffs he's going to be Brett Favre on the Jets throwing 29 INT's

Should have given the ball to Ingram more.

If he had 250 carries we'd have finished 10-6.

No, I doubt we would have won 3 more games just because Ingram averaged 2.8 more carries per game.

Ingram finished with 205 carries. If he'd have gotten more carries in the games we lost we may have won them.

You don't know that for sure. What I do know is that if the ST or defense hadn't fricked up on a few occasions we would be in the playoffs.

Now look at that...with all those great numbers, the one year that stands out to me is 2009.

It's not there!!!

We Had a balance offense and played defense!!! There was no need to throw the ball 50-60 times in a game. Payton seems to be focused on building the team again to win games. With a focus on pass rush and smart linebackers with some wheel the team will be able to compete again.

People downvoting me for stating the facts and blaspheming their supreme leader. Everybody is held accountable, especially the damn quarterback! When we needed Brees to come through this year he looked terrible.

The criticism of Brees padding his stats are ridiculous. Apparently when a QB puts up good numbers with a bad defense it equals padding stats to a lot of people.

And I wouldn't call our defense good. We finished with the #2 scoring offense and the #31 scoring defense. Those are the two main stats. And we lost a few games due to special teams.

How many games on n a row did we lose to start the season? How many of those were Drew's fault?
