#Saints  coach Sean Payton says he won't announce the starting quarterback for the #Falcons game between Taysom Hill and Jameis Winston until later in the week.

I think we all assume it will be Jameis but is there any chance it’s Taysom?

I think it’ll be Jameis

Jameis will start but Taysom will get about 25% of the offensive snaps.

unless they decide the 1st offensive play of the game is QB power (the Saints version of the old single wing where Taysom gets to the end of the offensive line)... I don't think it's any way that it's not Jameis

Man, can you risk playing Hill at all of these other positions when you are down to 2 QBs?!? No easy answer.

right... it doesn't matter who starts... they're both going to play

Jameis will be the "conventional" QB while Taysom will do his thing

the question will be... does Taysom see a reduced role again... b/c we saw that a bit while Drew was out last season... the Taysom plays were fewer & further between b/c now CSP has to think "I can't put both Taysom & Jameis at risk now with no other back-up"

The Josh Hill concussion becomes sneaky big if Taysom plays less H Back.

You’ve got to. He’s too big a part of what we do. Unless Sean changes up the offense to go more vertical than horizontal to take advantage of James’s arm strength.

I think it'll be a revamped Teddy playbook since Jameis has an arm and doesnt necessarily have to check down constantly.

Why would he announce anything. I would put Brees as limited all week and let the Falcons have to prepare for all 3 of them.

if they dont start taysom then they better off trading him

if all he is there for is a few trick plays then stop pretending he is a QB and just make him a damn tight end already and be done with it

tayson, just like teddy did last year will only get better by playing a few games as the starter and at years end we may have a real QB who throws first and only runs if he has to in taysom

Not a single team in the NFL thinks Drew will play Sunday

He's not going to be a QB for anyone else.

if they refuse to let him play in order to learn how to read defenses, then you are right, but other teams might give him that chance and its worth trading him rather then paying him to be our 4th RB option

bridgewater couldnt play for shite either until they gave him 3-4 games to learn and by the time drew got back teddy was a solid backup QB. there is nothing in taysoms history to suggest he couldnt be just as good if he would only be given live game experience to learn and gain confidence

Why would the Saints care about what other teams would do with him?

Nobody's giving up anything of worth for him so he's more useful than whatever he's traded for.

No he was former starter in the league. Taysom has thrown like ten passes and they've signed two different QBs to be the #2 in front of him. Take the hint.

Actually there's nothing in his history to suggest he could be anywhere near as good.
