He is not the answer.

I think both are perfectly achievable

I think Winston is only not the starter if the Saints decide to make a trade for someone like Stanford, Darnold, Watson (lol). There’s going to be a decent amount of options.

I think if they draft someone high they’ll likely go with Winston as the starter

I think Winston can do great here. We have seen what average talent can do here the last couple years. The kid is an elite talent. I can't wait to see what an arm looks like in this offense again feels like decades lol. Trust Sean can put JW or whoever we get in situations to succeed. He has done it with others.

Man oh man this board erupted even when we were kicking arse on offense for years I can't imagine what it's going to be like no matter who takes the rwigns at quarterbacks because there's going to be ups and downs just like any other goddamn f****** player.

this is such a silly dumbfrick of a statement.

OK smart-arse, Nick Foles and Eli Manning. Neither had the best defense and neither is considered elite.

Would you like me to rattle off a list of QBs that lost the Super Bowl?

Winston cuts down on the INTs, he could at least take us to the Division round. Is that a dumbfrick statement?

I'll tell you what dumbfrick is. It's thinking the Saints will see another Super Bowl. If they couldn't get an elite QB another ring, you can forget about it with an average QB.

People act like he throws for 30 into every year. Prior to last season he threw between 11 and 18 interceptions every year. That puts him in the same range as Drew Brees during his prime. If you actually watched him play last season and not just log on to nfl.com and browsed the statistics, you would understand why 30 interceptions is an outlier. Sean Payton, Pete Carmichael, Joe Lombardi are ridiculously huge upgrades from Dirk koetter, Todd Monken, Bruce Arians in terms of working with QBs.

If CSP can enable Teddy to go 5-0, then I believe CSP can garner a 12-4 record with Jameis at the helm.

That I don’t know. I find it hard to believe he would come here for a year without some plan of keeping him around afterwards. That said, he’s a FA and the salary cap is a mess, so

B) He’s able to become quality NFL QB

I think he is. Don’t forget that when Brees was throwing 40 TDs a year that he was also throwing between 17-20 interceptions as well. And that was after he turned 30. Favre even threw 29 interceptions one year at GB (he threw over 20 ints several years) and he’s in the HOF.

I think Winston has a ton of talent. I think he is very young and sometimes tries too hard. I think Payton’s play calling could help him out greatly! He just needs to mature and throw the ball away if the play isn’t there. If he can do that, he can be a really good QB. And I’d take him instead of having a cavalcade of no-name QBs like Miami had after Marino or Denver has had after Elway/Manning.

You realize that we've been an elite team for 2 years despite having played, at QB, during that time, right?:

Teddy Bridgewater
Taysom Hill

Winston is Aaron Brooks 2.0

I actually think Brooks is a little better than Winston. Y'all are going to be so disappointed if Winston starts next year. Everyone keeps saying all he has to do is cut down on interceptions, well if it is so easy to do, then why didn't he do it 2 years ago in Tampa - BECAUSE IT'S NOT THAT EASY.

Even if he can cut down the INTs, he will be drastically reducing his passing yards and TDs too. Winston is not the answer at QB.

Nick foles wasn’t the answer in philly and he still won a super bowl.

My answer stands.

I’m not saying Winston is going to be the guy. I’m just saying he can win a super bowl with the right pieces around him. shite gimpy Peyton Manning won a Super Bowl behind good defensive play.

I kind of see your point but he won it behind highly elite defensive play. They held 3 of the 4 top scoring offenses in the league to well below their seasonal averages.
