Did we really draft a fricking injury prone DE out of the AAC with our first GD pick ?!!!?? I was really hoping I dreamed that shite.

He missed two games total because of these injuries. Doesn’t seem like that big of a deal.

ETA: three*

Yep. 2nd team all Conference USA. We are so damn stupid in the draft.

I get the concern. I just was just saying the injury prone thing seems overstated.

I hope so man. I can't believe we didn't grab JOK or Baremore. I feel like we reach for these raw project players way too often. I'm all for those kinda picks later but you need to play the odds in the 1st round. I hope I'm eating crow in a year or two but this pick is stupid and another example of Sean payton trying to be cute.

You do realize this past year they finally moved him outside and he had 5 sacks in 5 games

Awesome. I hope he works out and wrecks shite in the NFL. I really wanted JOK out of notre dame and he was right there ripe for the taking.

It really blows my mind that average joes like yourself think you know more than the professionals who get paid to do this

It really blows my mind that condescending pricks like you always show up and try to sell people/themselves on these picks after the fact. Maybe I am just an average Joe but every site so far has given us a shitty grade for round 1.

to be fair, the professionals aren't very good at evaluating and drafting themselves

While true they still know far more than the fans who watch a few highlight reels and read Kiper’s big board.

Hell even Kiper had a player rated 15th overall who fell out the 1st completely and people here are screaming we should have draft him because he was on Kiper’s board

I'm fine with taking risks if there's a lot of upside.

You don’t know as much as an NFL front office. Case closed.

People actually put stock in grades right after a draft? LOL

Go back and look at draft grades on Mahomes. There were some awful ones. Hell with almost every player really. The grades are by writers who are using their mock draft to compare. A lot of these writers have never watched these players play a snap. The whole media around the draft is honestly hilarious. Those guys know as much as we do. Trust the real scouts. Sometimes it goes right. Sometimes it goes wrong.

Neither do you genius. Doesn't mean it wasn't a stupid pick. Jury will be out on that for a while.. let me melt in peace for fricks sake.

I’m not claiming I do. I’m arguing to trust them. Every pick isn’t going to work out. But they know what to look for. They have a better shot at getting it right than we do.
