SNF is a classic anti-trap game for the Saints

Although there is no real logical reason to believe the Saints will win this Sunday, this the type of game the Saints will look their best. CSP teams are creatures of habits. They almost always do the following.

- Look terrible in at least one of the first two games of a season.
- Drop at least one game to a bad team.
- Look flat against bad teams.
- Play well after a loss.
- Play well on primetime at home.
- Thrive on being underdogs. Nothing seems to get this team going more than being counted out, which they have to be given the way both the Packers and Saints have looked after their first two games.

On paper the Saints should lose to the Pack. The Saints offense looks bad. Packers offense looks great and common sense says they will tear up the Saints terrible secondary. But I have a feeling this will be one of the better games the Saints play this season. It's annoying that CSP can never get his teams to rise above this psychology and play to their potential most weeks, but maybe we can enjoy this Sunday.

Well, our star WR is out and we have one less day of practice and recuperation. Signs don’t look good for our Swiss cheese defense.

Week 3 under Payton the last three seasons. 3-0 averaging 36 points per game. All those were with Michael Thomas.

Saints are a -3 point favorite.

You just described most of the nfl teams. Playing down to bad teams and playing well after a loss isnt unique to the saints. Its the nfl, that stuff is going to happen.

Maybe im just prone to not look at only the last games data, but to me common sense says the saints secondary is much better than they showed last week and is closer to the secondary they showed week 1 and that green bay isnt going to shred them considering they shredded an awful lions defense that was hurt and a vikings defense that is awful. This is the first time the packers are going to face a real secondary and they are suseptible to being gashed in the run game. So i expect the saints to win here

Agreed. Tre’Quan will probably have a repeat of that Redskins game and then disappear again.

Does Drew remember how to throw it by week 3? As I recall, Drew was rarely the issue in Weeks 1 and 2

I agree with this guy. This is one of those game that I said no way we win after how we played last week, everytime I say that we win. I said it last year against the Seahawks with Teddy

Drew won’t lose us ganes. He just can’t go in and win them anymore. We will struggle to win games when our defense struggles. However, Drew also needs to stop throwing picks before half

Trap game? Packers should be favored.

Our defense played bad last week no doubt, but they have a big enough body of work over the past year for me to trust them.

The Packers have played 2 dumpster fire teams in the 1st two weeks. Going into the season, the look-ahead line was Saints -7. The fact that is -3 is a complete over-adjustment.

The Saints Defense will eat in this game.

You are correct. Same scenario in 2014.
You just never know.

Love the optimism, but this ain't it. Shaky DB's, not much pass rush to speak of and a thin defensive line, all of which does not bode well going against Aaron Rodgers. Not to mention the offense being handcuffed by a qb who can't stretch the field and the best underneath receiver is out. Green Bay wins in a walk

The saints secondary is way better than the packers passing game, and that’s counting Davante Adams playing which is still unknown

Aaron Jones is the key to the packers.

You make a good point in theory, but we just got rolled by the raiders. I mean, how worried were you about the Carr-Waller connection before Monday night?

The packers don’t have a Darren Waller though. The raiders WRs were shut down, and in general if you say a teams top receiver is a TE and he averages 8 YPC, you would take that. It was a strange game.

WRs have 19 catches for 269 yards thru 2 games and after Adams(who again is iffy) the Packers don’t have many scary weapons.

If we limit Aaron Jones, we have a very good chance of winning.

Las Vegas played on offense like we did for the past several years: nickel and dime you to death on short throws after a three step, quick drop (typical Brees). They beat us at our own game.

Our defense could not have stopped an 80 year old lady from crossing the street last week.

The difference is now the team would rather focus on social justice issues than football. Pack by 10.
