tongues in my alimentary canal.

Both tried to downplay and astericize Drew's record (although they are no doubt paid to take sides like a point-counterpoint debate by FECESPN).

Eric Mangini was the only one who truly acknowledged what an accomplishement and milestone Drew reached.
The other two said things like "well it's their offense, all they do is throw long bombs' (Bayless actually SAID this),
"they throw more passes and have longer seasons than they did back then," "He's a system quarterback," "I would be surprised if he does NOT throw a TD every game, all the passes they throw."
Mangini made the point that Drew has only averaged about 10 passes more a game than Unitas,
that Brees is the most accuarte QB in NFL history, that his receivers actually drop some of his passes, that Brees does throw more passes, but the OLine and the receivers still have to play their part, and Brees still has to make an accurate throw. It's not easy.
Why have Marino, Favre, Kelly, Young, Montana,
Moon, Griese, Bradshaw, etc not broken the record?

Of course, they just HAD to mention that Brady is only 11 games behind Brees also.....

If it was Brady the blowing would be endless.
But it's just Brees down in New Orleans so it doesn't matter

Yep, you know what they are going to do. Brady blowing = ratings for ESPN Boston.

I agree with this 100% as I don't watch them anymore either. But I can understand the issue with this because these fools can't put their egos aside for one second and understand how great this accomplishment is. It is disrespectful to Drew, the Unitas', every fan of football and the Saints organization. I mean Cal broke a meaningful baseball record on a terrible team but everyone in baseball took notice and appreciated what they witnessed. I guess baseball talking heads are different because they like watching history, football talking heads like controversy. Or at least these two idiots do.

This much was true. It's a different game today. It's the same in baseball.

It's just skip and smith on some third rate ESPN show that just takes up time between sportscenters, PTI and Yankees vs. Red Sox, so it doesn't matter

What the hell is the point of them saying that. It's not like he broke a season long record where he got the benefit of a 16 game season. It was a consecutive games streak. He still threw for at least one touchdown in 1 more game than Unitas no matter how you look at it.
