Six things I learned from last night's game

1) CSP is committed to the run this season and we have the OL horses to do it. Even without two starters we still dominated a very good defensive line. Can you imagine the matchups Brees is going to get with Colston, Stills, Graham and Cooks when teams have to put 8 men in the box?
2) Tyrunn Walker and Glenn Foster will earn the right to see significant playing time this season.
3) Luke McCown is making it easier for the Saints to carry just two QBs this season.
4) Khiry Robinson, Mark Ingram and Pierre Thomas are going to run wild this season. I just hope CSP feeds the hot hand in any given game.
5) Hawthorne better pick up his game or Humber's going to take his job.
6) Rob Ryan has a lot to work with after this game. It's early and you except blown coverages and missed assignments, but it doesn't make it any easier to watch. If the Saints secondary was a little complacent going into this game, Ryan should be able to get them refocused.
Other observations that don't make the list because so many others have mentioned it: Yes, Dixon sucks. Yes, Coleman sucked last night, but I'm reserving judgment until the end of preseason. Hill turned in a nice game and looks very capable as the #3 TE.

Yeah, Hill looked surprisingly good last night.
But I think it was due to two blown coverages.

Lelito and Armstead are such an upgrade in physicality over BDLP and Brown it isn't even funny

I would say Griffin is doing that. Mccown's abilities are known and definable; once Griffin shows that he can play to Mccown's level, there's no need to keep Mccown around.
