My buddy and I were standing half way through the 4th quarter all the way until the end and people asked us to sit down. Throughout the game we'd sit some on offense and defense we were standing and cheering. I don't get why people asked us to sit when the row infront of us was standing as well. Was that dumb they asked us to sit or are we dumb for standing in the fourth quarter of a playoff game?

People going to an NFL home playoff game should be aware that they may be standing for every Defensive series.

Our section stood the whole game.

Generally expect to stand in the 100s sections. Sit in the others unless it’s a really big play, esp a playoff game.

Sit on offense, jump and scream on defense.

That's etiquette.

When I was a kid at TS I was standing on third down and an old man behind me grabbed my belt loop and sat me down. My dad almost whooped his arse... The old man never said shite again.

I'd say they do this at every Cowboy game I've attended (with the Saints visiting),

But then..

in a playoff game.

If we are on defense I am standing, period. Throughout the years I've had a few people ask me to sit and I politely let them know that I will as soon as we are on offense

Don't mind them. They never saw the inside of the dome until '07 or so.

If people are standing in front of you, I stand, as well.

When the game is in doubt and calls for crowd noise, people stand.

If you don't like it, watch the game from your rocking chair.

Exactly. I think it depends on the magnitude of the game.

I noticed for the CFB Playoff games most of the crowd stood for a majority of the game.

I would expect to see the same at NFL playoff games as well as the CFB National Championship tonight.

Easy rule. Stand when someone in front of you is standing or your site line is obstructed.

I was in 614. The first 15 rows sat basically the entire game. I was at the falcons game and the only time anyone sat was when we had the ball. I was expecting so much more out of the Dome for a playoff game.

We sit in 617. Generally most of the section stands and yells on defense, and sits on offense unless it is a big 3rd down.

Yeah thats tough. I'd say if you're the only people standing in your section it's courteous to sit until a big play happens and then you can stand and cheer. If the people in front of you are standing then you don't really have much choice in the situation

only time I ask for people in front of me to sit is if they are the only ones standing in section , otherwise , usually when D is on the field everyone is standing cheering

I guess my other question would be, does sit/stand ettiquette change for playoff games? We almost blew a 15 point lead in the fourth and people asked us to sit down.

If the people in front of you are standing, then of course you have to stand. I don’t know why anyone would ask you to sit down in that situation.
