This guy might be a steal. He has a motor on him!

Shaquem Griffin is heading to the scouting combing after all.

The star linebacker from the University of Central Florida has received an invitation to the combine, his agent confirmed on Tuesday. It's a significant development as Griffin attempts to become the first player with one hand to be drafted during the league's modern era, according to the NFL.

The news of his combine invitation comes after Griffin stood out at the Senior Bowl, where he was named practice player of the week.

"Thank you all for all ya'll support. The entire nation's behind me and I couldn't do it without you. I'm going to let you know: something special's coming soon and you're going to see it," Griffin said in a video he tweeted. "They invited the right one to the NFL combine. I'm going to show you. I've got a lot to prove. Against all odds."

Griffin's left hand was amputated at age 4 because of a congenital condition called amniotic band syndrome. Despite that, he was a two-year starter at UCF and a first-team All American Athletic Conference selection both seasons. He was the AAC's defensive player of the year in 2016 and was named the defensive MVP of the Peach Bowl, which completed UCF's 13-0 2017 season.

That he was not included on the initial list of combine invitees came as a surprise to many, including his twin brother Shaquill Griffin, a cornerback for the Seattle Seahawks.

"I feel like any other player who has the accolades that he has and everything that he's accomplished, he'd be the first person to have a combine invite," Shaquill told ESPN last week. "And you're going to tell me the reason why is because of his situation? That's not fair. I'm not sure what else he has to prove at that point. That's the reason why I stood up [for him], not just because he's my twin brother. He proved everybody wrong, he did everything he's done, he has all the accolades, he's a baller. I don't see why he shouldn't have a combine invite."

What would we think about him as a Day 3 pick?

At least he would have a legit excuse for dropping interceptions. Sign him up!

You gotta hand it to the guy, thats pretty darn impressive. I'd be upset about this too. These guys are hand picked because of their college accomplishments and he had just as many awards as anybody else going to the combine. I cant put my finger on why they would initally leave him out, as even with his amputation he seems like a stud. Its awesome his brother from the Seahwaks vouched for him though, I'd bet Pete Carrol had a hand in his being invited to the draft.

looks like the gained the upper hand on the Combine... i think he'll hand in a hell of a Combine and boost his draft position... he'll have his hands full at the Combine, but on the other hand, he better not bite the hand that feeds him, as it could go the opposite way... he's a hard worker, not looking for hand outs... but you have to hand it to him, he's hands down one of the best LBs in this draft...

i know this is a heavy handed entry, and it's a little out of hand, but so the frick what...

In all seriousness, I'm a big fan of his! I'm sure he'll have the last laugh.

How can you not like him? On one hand, he's a winner! On the other... Nevermind.

He is projected as pass rush specialist and special teams starter at worst. HIs twin brother was 3rd or 4th round pic and is starter now at dB. The Seahawks want him too. Which should tell you all you want to know.

Projected 4-5 round pic. I am betting late 3rd round. Kid is like honey badger, he can play. I meet him and he is as good a kid as you will ever see. No one will out Work him but he can play hand or not
