......I get it , he will get better once he gets his timing down with his receivers.

However, they glossed over the Saints win. Sure some gave props on Saints defense and special teams.

However they focused on Tampa offense needing to get better, but none talked about Saints offense will get better.

Saints offense didn't have a preseason too, Saints didn't have the home field advantage that they usually have.

Also I noticed on 2 Tampa scores, they were put into position due to Pass Interference. One penalty was for over 40 yards, but didn't mention that.

Anybody else feel the national talking heads (other than Kay Adams) are not giving Saints the love ?

They put up a 40 burger with the offense pretty much nonexistent in the third quarter.

Brady is done. Yes he had that one beautiful pass. He'll do that maybe 5-10 times all season though.

He was sailing everything or throwing ducks all day.

Offenses are always behind the defenses to start the season. Especially this year with no preseason games. Both offenses will be better as the season goes on.

As for the OP, they only wanted to talk about Tom yesterday. I saw a 15 minute segment that talked only about Tampa’s offense and the only mention of the Saints the whole time was someone said Lattimore and Jenkins played great...but Tom will get better as the season goes on.

The shame of it is that Tampa’s front seven is really good and they are totally overlooked in all this.

I think Brady is done too but he's smart and they have talent. They'll be good and I wouldn't want to play them early in the playoffs.

I think he could be good for one last Joe Montana in KC death rattle run.

Brady is and will always be a talking point for the national media.

The Saints winning regular season games is just business as usual, it's what we do

Tampa Bay Times

quote:

Did you see the pick-six Brady threw to open the third quarter? If you didn’t, go back and watch one of Winston’s from last year because they were almost identical. How many times do the Bucs have to invite cornerbacks to jump those sideline outlet passes before that page is finally ripped out of Tampa Bay’s playbook?

...

Weren’t these supposed to be problems of the past? Wasn’t this exactly why Brady was brought to Tampa Bay? The Bucs don’t need Brady to replicate Winston’s 5,109 passing yards from 2019, but they do need him to avoid negative-impact plays.

So what did Bucs coach Bruce Arians think of Brady’s first interception?

“Tom just overthrew it,” he said.

And the second?

“Bad decision.”

Those are not descriptions normally associated with Brady. Do you realize the last time he threw two interceptions in a season opener was during George W. Bush’s presidency? That was Bush’s first term, by the way.

...

Here’s the bottom line one week into the NFL season:

Bill Belichick and Cam Newton are 1-0.

Jameis Winston and Sean Payton are 1-0.

And Tom Brady is 0-1.

Brady is always going to be a bigger ratings/media draw than the Saints... it is what it is

I looked this up in another thread but Arians has a HORRIBLE record in his first year with a QB. I think 4 out of 5 or 5 out of 6 had their career high in ints in their first year with him.

Also consider that this Saints offense is nearly identical to last year, so the TB had familiarity and tape on it.

The Saints D had little to go with on what TB would roll out there.

I’m not sure why Tampa will be really good. Evans and Godwin are excellent, but they don’t have any offensive threats besides them.

Their OL isn’t good. Their defense is good. I mean they look like a .500 team to me

I thought their Oline would be better this year but it's still fricking awful, maybe even worse.

Their secondary is still bad, masked by a really good and fast as frick front 7.

Fournette's only been in town a couple days

let him have a few weeks to learn the playbook and let's reevaluate that statement by the midseason

very true... this will be their downfall... much like we've said with the Falcons over the last couple seasons

I love Leonard but he’s an average NFL RB. I don’t think there’s much difference between him and Ronald Jones. Neither move the needle imo.

McCoy shouldn’t touch the ball again though

yeah the Saints run game could not get out on the edge at all

but there were some holes up the middle that were exploited

there were a few plays where Latavius Murray was caught by a shoestring and tripped up... otherwise he was gone

Deuce railed on Murray a bit for that... saying he needed to get his feet up

ETA: Kamara I think also had a run up the middle that looked open for a big gain where he ran into the back of a blocking OL... if he had cut right of that block he hadn't nothing but Superdome turf in front of him.
