This clears up an ongoing debate:
"Because Breaux returned to practice, he counted as one of the Saints' players returning from injured reserve, even though he never came back to the active roster."

That's what I thought. Hate to assume the worst, but why in the world do you designate him until you know for sure he can come back to practice?

He did come back to practice. He had a set back the week he was scheduled to return to the active roster, which means he was back for a full week of practice before the re-injury occurred.

Yeah it wasn't just a little knick, it takes a little while plus u can't lift or work out much
