Traded away this years 2nd rounder to Miami last year to select Eric McCoy.

2020 Saints NFL Draft picks:

· Round 1 (24th overall)

· Round 3 (88th overall)

· Round 4 (130th overall)

· Round 5 (169th overall)

· Round 6 (203rd overall)

If a player we covet isn’t there, not a WR because the draft is so deep, we need to trade down. We all know they won’t happen, but it’s what we should do.

What if no one wants to?

If we wanted to trade back then there are two real options.

1) Trade Back in the first round....Saints would go from #24 to #30-32 and could get a possible mid-3rd round pick #90-94.

2) Trade down to a high 2nd round...and then add a low 3rd or 4th round pick in 2020 or 2021.

Would you rather be without McCoy and Kamara?

I didn’t think so

A lot of what? Potential? We got actual talent in those guys. We barely keep 50% of our draft picks anyway. People make too big of a deal when it comes to draft picks. As far as I'm concerned, get known talent.

This guy misses the potential of SJB or Stephone Anthony, or idk insert bust here

Our current model works. Teams are trying to master it.

Less picks with more makes is a good model

If anything we’re trading UP - I wouldn’t be surprised to see us use a 2021 2nd rounder if there’s a guy we really covet bc we’ll have an extra comp 3rd for Teddy and possibly one or two later picks

A receiver makes sense (look up Brandon Aiyuk) bc you have Sanders to mentor him for 2 years and acts as insurance incase he gets hurt. Trey Quan Smith is also up soon and unless he really blows UP this year he’ll be on the way OUT.

Our roster is deep what's the use of having 7 or more picks if you don't have that many openings?

It may not be exciting, but two years ago we couldn't even stash guys on the practice squad. You want 8 or 9 draft picks? Recent history tells us they'll end up playing for another teams anyway.

I could care less about the 7th Round.

Oh hang on someone is calling me.

“Hey Marques, how have you been?”

The Saints are going all in this year so don’t be surprised if they use their 1st next year to trade up if there is someone who they are in love with. If someone like Derrick Brown, Javon Kinlaw or Isaiah Simmons were to fall in that 11-15 range I could see them jumping all over a deal to move up.
