Payton is not happy at how he missed on his receiver corp this season outside of MT and Watson... he watched Cousins and Thielen play pitch and catch and got pissed off.

As special as Thomas and Kamara are, there are going to be teams who take them away from us eventually and force us to beat them with someone else
Agreed. This is why the Chiefs see so much zone and they just pick it apart - because no defense has enough players to man-up against Hunt, Hill, Kielce, and Watkins.
We’re half way there.

In a perfect world. We still have cooks and somehow draft Ramczyk.
People can say what they want about him being a diva, but a trio of Thomas, cooks, and Kamara would put fear into teams moreso than we do now.

Dez must know we not gonna pay him no 3 years 21 million. If we get him, he better come on the cheap cheap; or unless he a all-world CB or FS.

I agree but our Oline is so dominant no matter how much emphasis you put on stopping MT he’s gonna have enough time to get open. I don’t understand how we dropped the ball on Meredith. Dude was pretty good for the Bears considering the situation at QB there. You’d of thought we would realize either he still isn’t healthy or he isn’t a quick learner. Saying all that he looked fine in one of the later preseason games and a couple games earlier this season. I’m sure it’s a drastic difference in playbook going from Bears to Saints though lol.
As I said earlier I don’t think any of this has to do with Ginn coming back or not. Payton has already said he believes Ginn will be back. If anything Dez is closer to a MT type WR than a Ginn. Even if we do sign Dez we will have Ginn back when eligible, probably even Tommie Lee Lewis to take pressure off Kamara on punt returns.
Anyone remember what injury Hooman had and if he has a chance to come back? I know we can only bring back 2 off the IR, but Hooman is a pretty good blocker.

The Saints front office and Sean Payton know that we just played a Rams team without their best corner playing. When we see them again, it will be with Talib covering MT. We need another weapon.

Trying to get a redzone threat

Dez 1 on 1 against other teams #2 or 3 CB? Yeah I can frick with that.

We need to make this happen. It's pretty clear we need a legit #2 receiver right now. Having Kamara out of the backfield, Watson, and Brees being awesome is great, but we need another mismatch.

Saints don't need a speedster or a stud. They need a veteran who can come in and know the routes and, most importantly, make catches. Dez or Marshall can fit that role. They won't be asked to be the 1 or 2 guy, but they can likely flourish against opponents' #3 corner.

dez is still a stud. dude was a stud then they get a new quarterback who we can now say definitively sucks, and his production goes down.

Not saying he isn't or couldn't be, just that the NEED of the team isn't so dire. If he comes in and plays like he did a couple of years ago, it would be striking gold.

What is wrong with Smith? He looks really good to me. Am I missing something with him?

probably nothing. coach typically over analyzing a player's ability to impact the field and game based on minor practice not doings. Smith has a bright future, just needs to get past the learning hump and get trust of staff.
