Saints are set to have a formidable combo at WR and RB for years to come

Michael Thomas is the real deal and will only get better. Alvin Kamara has been nothing but impressive. He runs with power and speed, and also has great vision.
While Ingram is a solid back, he doesn't possess the "big play" factor that Kamara has demonstrated.
Excited for the future of this team and watching these two hopefully develop into greats.

I like what Payton did with the RBs this week...screw the 3 man rotation. Use Ingram as your bellcow with Kamara being the Joker. Peterson should be a game finisher / goal line back, and that's it.

Well that won’t mean much if we Brees goes elsewhere next year.

We do our best when we have a bell cow player and a big play/gadget-type player.
And honestly, Kamara is more than a mere gadget player since he really can run between the tackles.

I think a low-key goal for us the next few offseasons will be to try and get some WRs to take the pressure off Thomas. Will be especially important with Brees getting ready to take the pretty ride off into the sunset.

Agreed Mike Thomas is strait up ridiculous so far . He has looked like a top 5 wideout in the NFL thus far.

I've had a lot of people scoff at me for this, but to me he's Julio Jones without the speed.
Similar stature, physicality and route running. Great hands, not a body catcher. Only difference is that Julio has elite top-end speed.

Get the QB of the future in the draft (I'm looking at you Josh Allen) and we'll be set.

Having stud playmakers will help the transition

I don't think it's hyperbole to say that Thomas is the best WR Brees has had in New Orleans. Yes, Colston has the numbers, but he wasn't the play maker that Thomas is.
I was as down on Ingram as anybody, but he has been a different back the last two years. The only reason he's not producing like he did last season is because he's getting less chances. He had some nice runs vs. Carolina and showed good vision, power and burst.
Kamara was the backup at Tenn. for most of his time there. However, you could see how good he was when he would get touches. You still worry about his size though when it comes to running between the tackles.

Getting a healthy Snead back will offload some of the pressure from Thomas. If Cooks and Stills were not such divas we would be loaded at wide receiver. Just imagine Graham, Cooks, and Stills instead of Hill, Hinn, and Lewis.

I'm sure someone has done a detailed analysis on this elsewhere, but watch how Payton uses both of them in passing sets.
Defenses have to respect both, so one can often take the coverage off the other (usually Kamara giving Thomas room to operate) on short to intermediate routes. It's fun to watch.
