Erxleben used to hit the gondola from time to time during warm ups...remember watching him do that when i was a kid with my parents at games.

it was to avoid the "empty section" look you get at other stadiums. not really an issue these days though.
this all is in anticipation of a 2018 superbowl bid though - no surprise major renovations are in the works.
