That was a pretty cool commercial.

for those who haven't seen it, she places herself in a hospital room and she has her saints blanket... says football doesn't cure cancer (up for debate) but it gives you a little bit of hope when you need it the most.

frick you cancer

You're a female with two bouts with cancer and you work for Good Morning America on ABC?

i feel like people who aren't football fans would think the commercial is ridiculous. I know that we all understand where the ad's message is coming from, but again - if football is so powerful that it can "make you forget you have cancer" then why are Texans fans catching so much shite for cheering Matt Schaub's injury?

If Schaub wasn't playing so horribly the Texans would be 4-2 and thousands of Houstonians would be laying happily in their hospital beds forgetting about their situation.

The NFL is again trying to have it both ways. When fans cheer Schaub being injured they're "sickos" because afterall, it's "just a game". Yet when Robin Roberts is lying in her cancer ward it's WAY more than just a game. It's life-altering, faith-inspiring, and bigger than the sum of its parts.

Football makes cancer a little more bearable.
But it causes dementia, and other diseases of the brain.
Kind of a toss up really.

Nah, the talking heads who were so hard on the Texans' fans are the ones taking it way too seriously. I'm cool.

She was a stud b-ball player at SELU...an all-time great at the school! She's a legit lifelong Saints fan?

saw it. pretty cool. knew RR was from gulf coast but didn't know she was a Saints fan. Homerism aside, Robin is the only person worth a frick on GMA. Diane Sawyer and those faggy-arse men can go die in a fire.

Dude, stop trying to make it seem like people cheering Schaub's injury aren't trash. They are. Cheering anyone's injury, much less your own player, is trash.

What the frick are you talking about? RR is saying that watching her Saints for three hours a week helped her forget illness if only briefly. How is that the same as cheering when someone gets hurt?

Watching her on GMA when the Saints were in the SB was great. The day after they won, I think she was still hammered from celebrating the night before.

I thought it was a great commercial. I have a buddy with cancer and its the same with him. His week isnt always great but on Sunday afternoon (and Saturday when the Rebels lose... i mean play) when the Saints play, all of that goes away. It may only be for only a couple of hours but its time when his thoughts are completely distracted from the seriousness of his condition and he's in peace.

Football/being a fan, can be a lifesaver, maybe not physically but instead mentally. Which is half the battle in dealing with a serious illness.

just my thoughts, love the commercial

That's one of the dumbest things I've read.
