The Saints’ roster is too deep for 5 3rd day picks to make the roster. Trade up and get players that can not only contribute now, but can become future starters when contracts come up for fringe players (Peat, Bell, Marcus Williams, etc.).

Both of these picks have been A+ selections.

Marcus Williams ain’t a ‘fringe player’ bro

I agree with what you’re saying though

He’s pretty close to a fringe player based on last year

Yep, totally agree. Go up and get those two or three guys you want rather than chasing a bunch of guys you hope to get lucky with, especially when there's really no room on the roster to keep them.

Both of these picks will contribute heavily this season. Cant ask for more.

Really excited to see Gardner Johnson in this secondary

After his first season I would have totally agreed with this statement. If you go back and look at him last year though, his angles were absolutely terrible. So many times when we got burnt for deep throws his approach to the ball was almost indescribable. He absolutely regressed. Hoping for sure that he bounces back, but it was not encouraging last year.

He’s not a fringe player.

He hasn’t been a difference makerthough, IMO.

Williams has regressed and I’m still salty after that Minny debacle.

Marcus Williams was great his rookie year. He took a big step back last year and played scared. If he doesn’t revert back to his rookie form this year, he will definitely be a player on the fringe of remaining with the team.
