Made a thread last night about this during the game. In 09 we had guys that may not have been great players during the season but somehow turned it on in big games or the playoffs.

Bushrod, Porter, Hartley, Will Smith continued playing well in the playoffs, even Fujita turned another gear. There were more I could name. Obviously Brees was younger and played smart in 09, but he had big help still. We just don't have that Tracy Porter type player on this team.

This Saints team just doesn't have that. Deonte Harris can be considered one, maybe Trequean Smith can also after a good game yesterday. Kamara, but he isn't gonna be given enough opportunities to shine. Lutz (many will disagree) but he's made some big kicks in the playoffs over the last few years. I'd say Malcom Jenkins but he's getting up there in age, or already too old to look at the future.

MT, Cam Jordan, Armstead, Ram, Demario Davis all seem to go into a shell in the playoffs. DD one of my favorite players but he doesn't take over games in the post season like he does in the regular season.

There is hope that maybe McCoy is one, I felt he was the only lineman who didn't get pushed in the dirt last year against the Vikings and honestly feel he and Ruiz played solid yesterday considering Peat, Ram, and Armstead stuggled.

I'd hoped after 4 years in a row of playoff experience these guys would grow up during the post season and start shining but it just hasn't happened. I'm curious what the key is to getting players that can turn it on during big moments, veteran FAs from playoff or SB teams? Of course we need all those other guys to get us to the playoffs, so I'm not saying ditch them, but we need 4-5 more players than can turn it on in crunch time.
