So you're saying limit his best asset (his mobility)

only in such ways that expands his availability in cointinung his mobility. All the mobile qb's do it. Lamar Jackson does it and still gained 1200 yards on ground.

expand his worst asset (his accuracy).

so laughable. people regurgitate the same fricking bull shite.

re: PFT Tweet about Taysom Hill
Two Preseasons worth of showings.

'18 passed for 73.5%
'19 passed for 67.8%
Teddy passed for 61.4% in preseason, 67.9% in reg season.

We have data, its just convenient for the haters to ignore.

re: PFT Tweet about Taysom Hill
You don’t realize the guys he played against in preseason are now playing in the XFL

Maybe you can list the 3rd string QBs whose regular season success was predicated by good preseason stats?

And now, I ask you, why are these guys, who are accurate as Drew Brees in the preseason, being blackballed from starting NFL positions?

Recent history of 70% plus passers in preseason

Chad Kelly, Ryan Finley, Nathan Peterman
Kyle Sloter, EJ Manuel, Matt McGoin
Josh Johnson, Landry Jones, Colt McCoy
Tyler Heinecke, Matt Simms

You can knight for Hill, that’s fine. Everyone likes him and wants him to succeed in whatever role he takes on. But you will continue to look foolish if you’re argument is going to be an attempt to legitimize preseason stats. Surely you do not want to continue on that road

you're trying to compare him to Sanu yet i'm the foolish one? We have limited info to judge Taysom on and his progress is evident by his play. He's grown in each preseason and each regular season. They have allowed him to drop back and make legitimate nFL Throws this past season. He's made some really nice completions that aren't gadget throws or plays. Besides the fact you guys are severely underestimating and flat out blatantly being ignorant and naive to the advantages of an offense that possesses a capable 800-1000 yard rusher as our primary qb.

You want to roll with Hill if Drew retires, I wont disagree with it...we have cap issues even without Drew's dead money; his last year is cap friendly and it can literally be a test run before contract negotiations.

Since our team is built to win NOW, I disagree with the unproven commodity.

I would prefer someone who has proven he can win in the regular season against good teams... but I see the argument against it.

But dude, you arguing for Hill...that he is the next big thing... with preseason stats to back you up.....cmon bro.

There is a scrap heap bigger than the one on west end post Katrina filled with preseason heroes who did jack when it counted.

Edit: you'd be betting the most talented roster maybe ever on a 30 yr old with less than 20 career pass attempts

I'm not using preseason stats to back up anything.

You guys keep regurgitating "inaccuracy" and that isnt' something that has shown to be a real problem in his development as a QB here with the Saints.

What's worse is going back to the BYU days in BYU offense with BYU players during his injured history and using those numbers to prove what he is now. That's lame as shite. This whole taysom project is very unique.

No one should be claiming this...There isnt enough data to go on either way except, college, preseason and his 10ish passes during regular games. But, when I say either way, that applies to your pro-hill argument as well. Knife cuts both ways

yes that is stupid, his playing style is physical

agree, the whole situation with Hill, Drew and Teddy and where we are is unique.

Lez Be Honest.

If Taysom has passed for 58% the past two preseasons, his accuracy would be judged and it would be noted of his performances of when he was used in a full time role.

Since his performances were actually pretty darn stellar, they are now meaningless. Throwing back shoulder throws to MT on the sideline, 52 yard completed bomb to harris, MT's record tieing catch, extending plays with his legs, creating plays with his legs, designed runs for him... we've seen him Do it All.

The best part of Taysom is in this reality of either being drew's heir this year or split reps with Drew... We aren't paying him 28 million to further prove himself this year.

So you’re telling me the defenders, OL, and WRs are all XFL quality? No shit, so are the QBs. Thanks for making the point. All the other preseason All Stats are playing for the houston roughnecks and seattle dragons

re: PFT Tweet about Taysom Hill
Interesting discussion about Taysom Hill on the local Los Angeles Sports talk show this morning.

the host said basically "can we stop with the Taysom Hill is a starter in the NFL crap?". Went on to say "it's very unlikely that a 30 year old guy who has thrown 18 passes in the NFL is going to be a star at QB, anywhere."

His co-host, and big Saints fan (for obvious reasons), Keyshawn Johnson basically agreed saying that Payton was talking Hill up to increase his value and justify a first round tender.

Always interesting to hear what people in other markets think about our players.

I believe Kurt threw one pass in 1998 before he blew up in 1999 after Green went down in preseason so no one outside of St. Louis really knew what he was.

We've all seen Taysom. Do you honestly think Taysom is Kurt Warner?
