PFF Mock: Saints select?
quote:

24. NEW ORLEANS SAINTS — WR JALEN REAGOR, TCU
The Saints love playmakers, and Reagor qualifies as exactly that. He may not have the biggest catch radius or the most inspiring production, but he separates at an elite level down the football field. That’s something the Saints haven’t had in quite some time.

So in other words, Ted Ginn v2? No thanks. Separation is great, but if you can't contest catches or even post consistent production then you are useless. Seriously, who writes may not have the biggest catch radius or the most inspiring production for a player to be drafted in the first round? They had to be laughing when they wrote this.

If we draft a wr, he better attack the ball and have playmaking capabilities.

Ginn gets separation, but he doesn't track the ball or attack it. Frustrating as hell to watch.

Would rather trade down and take Cole Kmet at TE and gain a 2nd round pick. So much depth at WR we can grab a difference maker in Round 2. Hell I think Reagor is more of a 2nd rounder anyway

Anybody ever see an outlet actually call our pick accurately in, say, the last ten years? Not sure I have.

I vote for Jefferson, can go get the ball and isn’t afraid to go across the middle. There’s nothing Jefferson can’t do but a guy to watch out for is Devin Duvernay that kid is a beast

I wonder if Duvernay will last until the 3rd round. If so I think there is value there.

With Vonn Bell set to hit free agency, the Saints could be in the market for a new starting strong safety. And if they elect to keep Chauncey Gardner-Johnson at slot cornerback, McKinney would be a great fit in Dennis Allen’s scheme.

I have no idea who that is. He obviously sucks and don’t want.

re: PFF Mock: Saints select?
I'm tired of seeing all these mock drafts having the Saints take Reagor

Reagor might be the fastest WR available in the draft this year. I know he can take the top off a defense with that speed but the problem for the Saints is do they have a QB that can throw the ball over 45 yards?

If Brees can't get it to him deep NFL safeties won't worry about getting burned deep.

Seriously, it might be a better fit for Brees to draft someone like Jefferson who will go up and get it. At least Brees is still excellent at ball placement within 40 yards. After 40 yards it gets a little dicey and that's Reagor's game.

Reagor would be a definite take if the Saints didn't have Harris because Reagor can also do a great job returning punts. But the Saints have a really good punt returner so it may make more sense to pick a WR that is a better fit for Brees' game.
