I didn't know he was projecting that high, so it might not be the right move for the Saints and their situation.

Something about picking a DT at 14 from Ole Miss... a guy i've never really heard of just doesn't really give me that boner that you look for out of your first round pick.

The guy is really good IMO. I just think we may have bigger needs right now. With that said, I wouldn't be upset if he was our pick.

I do but the thought of "best defensive tackle i've ever seen" has never crossed my mine especially with guys like Glenn Dorsey among many others that have come out of the SEC and other conferences lately.

watch a rerun of OM-LSU, he was a major factor in that win. (glad he's gone for da Tigahs)

For me, I'd rather reach 6 spots for him than take Maclin who might be the better BPA pick at #14

I never addressed that question one way or another. Not BTW

You saying you never heard of him tells me all I need to know about your insight.

Yeah I know. You like to agree with my opinion but act like you are on the other side of the fence but not admit it. Lame shite.

I never said he was the best, tard.

He was as good as Dorsey in college, just didn't have all the hype.

While I think he's underrated..not near as good as Dorsey...Doresy also had 2 All American seasons and a Lombardi award..Perry killed LSU in the game this year and sure caught my eye for the rest of the season..but didn't do it consistently in his career..thus he wasn't hyped

"one of the best"... you're splitting hairs bud. Just stick to your statement and convince me how one of the best college DT's you've ever seen isn't a guaranteed top 10 pick.

I'm sold on this guy. I am a firm believer in DT's being the most important position on the D, and this would give us (potentially) two studs. That is what you build great defenses around.

As for there being too much money in the D-line, you are reffering to the DE position. DT is its own entity. That's like saying there is too much money invested in the DB's, so we can't bring in a safety if the money is in CB's. Plus, IMO, it doesn't matter how much money is invested in a failing position; if it needs improvement and you can improve it, then do it. There's a TEAM salary cap, not a position one.

First time I really watched Jerry was the LSU game. Even with LSU's big oline he dominated that game. Looked like a man amoung boys and I wondered why he was not hyped at all. He may not be consistant but he was a BEAST that day.

Post-Combine Skinny: It wasn't the greatest of workouts, but it was good enough. He's not going to be a playmaker in the backfield, but it would've been nice if he appeared to be a bit more comfortable moving around. The key will be to get stronger. An NFL anchor who doesn't get to the quarterback has to be able to bench 225 pounds more than 25 times.
Positives: Excellent size and frame to keep getting bigger … A true anchor. Held up well with everyone working around him on an all-timer of a defense … Will keep moving. Makes blockers work to the whistle.
Negatives: Not a pass rusher. Not quick enough to get into the backfield … Will be used as a wall. Won’t be asked to be a star playmaker … Still needs to get bigger.

OVERRATED! OVERRATED! One dimensional run stopper who offers NADA in the pass rush department. In any other draft, he'd be a mid to late 2nd rounder.
