10) With Lattimore in NOLA, Malcolm Butler deal is probably dead. But worth mentioning: Pats didn’t want 32. They wanted 42 + another pick.

per Breer on twitter

Prolly dead now with the best corner in the draft on board but interesting. I said early that a 3rd or lower 2nd seemed like the right price. Feeling good about the FO standing on their board not just in the draft but not overpaying in a trade.

Zombie was correct our patience paid off huge. An unexpected drop made the no on paying butler pretty easy.

Would the saints still have taken Lattimore if they made that trade? All of a sudden you have butler, Breux and lattimore as your corners. Or do they take Allen/Barnett?

i wouldn't totally mind #42 plus something smallish next year.

Butler may be a much better defensive prospect than anything on board at 42 still.

butler
lattimore
breaux

reminds you of another team yet?? Denver Broncos? Talib, Harris Jr, and Roby

I guess it's not too late to still do it. They won't but interesting to think about, that would be an awesome secondary

If Willis is gone I say make deal. Give that young corp some leadership. You will need more than 1 great cover corner in NFC south.

Look at what Tampa is doing we need CB everywhere.

i'm thrilled with the Lattimore pick and i still wish they'd done this. Lattimore is a rookie wth injury issues and Butler is an all-pro in a year we absolutely have to make the playoffs.

Get Sidney Jones in the 3rd and next year you are set, for a long time at CB and you don't have to pay half the price.

I say offer 103 + 2018 2nd. I'd still do it despite drafting Lattimore.

I would still very much like Butler on the Saints.

...and Breaux and Sterling and a bunch of other guys with promise. Yes.
You nee 2 outside and one in the slot. Even with injury concerns, you should be fine.
He played 1 year of college, not one year of healthy college.

I think the next highly rated player even before Allen and Barnett was Hooker.
