Yeah I can't imagine the Saints being able to compete with offers that he's going to get, and if he's chasing rings, he'll likely sign with Tampa (which would be hilarious because then Sherman may be cut). If our offense was more settled (namely healthy so we could fully judge it), then it may be worth it, but he may only have 1-2 years left at an elite level. Hell, he may have 0 years left.

We aren’t a playoff contender let alone a title contender so I doubt he considers us
Bucs and cowboys will be in it I’m sure

We should've waited on roby.
Kinda sucks. We don't really have the money.

He was on the PUP list with NE. Does that mean he still can’t play until week seven?
While it would be nice, another team will offer way more than we can. And we need WR help at the moment, not CB as much.

Why did the Pats drop him? Has his play fallen off that much or was it an attitude issue? Seems like NE could have gotten a 5th-6th on name recognition alone

I think the Cowboys make a move for him

So why didn't Pats trade him to us if they were going to cut him a few weeks later?

Oh we know the drill - this reunion has been in the works since before it was legal to discuss it.

If they can turn the Salary Cap Off, you go for him. But, the reality is, it doesn't make sense. The defense (even the secondary) is not why this team has 2 loses. Sure, they have made some mistakes, had spurts of bad play; but the bigger issue is the offense, and especially the offenses ability to consistently maintain drives. They have limited space for 2021, and are already ~$45M over the projected cap of $210M for 2022 with roughly 1/2 of the roster spots locked up (and no QBs).
I know Loomis can get it done, but I just don't see the benefit of another huge contract when they will already need to make tough decisions.
A trade would have made sense because they could cut him without the deadmoney; but now they need to give him a new contract and would be on the hook for the signing bonuses

This is what I hope happens. Being a Saints fan, however, I'm sure he will go to Tampa and find the fountain of youth which will allow him to torment my team for a couple of years.
