Record is currently held by Peyton Manning's 539 TDs

Going into the season:
Drew Brees 520 TDs
Tom Brady 517 TDs

Despite missing 5 games, Brady is only 6 TDs ahead of Brees.
Currently:
Drew Brees 522 TDs
Tom Brady 528 TDs

With 9 games left in the season, Brees needs to average 2 TDs a game (and play the last 9) to break it

Brady on the other hand has to average 1.3 TDs a game (and play the last 9) to break it.

I would have thought it'd have been a larger gap, but over the past 5 games Brady has thrown 6 TDs to 4 INTs

This is why Brees is not retiring before Brady.

That and Brady can probably take the all time yardage record from Drew if he were to play 1 season longer than drew.

What was the game that the NFL thought he would break it...I believe they made it a prime time game.

Brady will probably play another two seasons at least. At the end of the day I don't think these records matter. As time passes, the more the rules favor quarterbacks and the passing game. Barring anymore unfortunate injuries, I'd expect Mahomes to break almost all of the records on the books.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves. Mahomes still has to stay healthy and start for a team for like another 10 years. Remember Drew had only missed one game before this. Mahomes is already hurt. A lot more goes into a record like this than just passing rules in the league changing.

Many would have said the same with Marino after his 5k season. shite happens.

People are already calling him future hall of famer on air, he's on his 3rd season.

That's why I said: barring anymore unfortunate injuries. But, at that rate, these are merely longevity records.
