Granted I like watching with fewer penalties but I think there have only been like 8 penalties called against saints opponents this year

They clearly missed a face mask on Taysom.

Both impressive for them and a little sketch, but at the same time Saints got away with a few themselves. Refreshing

Clearly illegal contact on sanders on the last offensive play in OT

Saints opponents in this four game stretch have committed 21 penalties for 146 yards.

In contrast, the Saints have committed 42 penalties for 410 yards.

wait... were we NOT called for 1 DPI all game long?

did that just happen?

yes I know there were some defensive breakdowns in the back... but hey at least there's progress on the penalty front

4 of the penalties were on special teams (3 holding calls on JT Gray & the roughing the punter penalty by Dwayne Washington)

I suspect that you eat at the trough of the NFL.

And one was the roughing the passer which would get called EVERY TIME. It was ticky tack but that is the way the rules are called.

Reported during the Saints game against the Chargers by the broadcasters: The Saints ranked as the worst team for NFL Team Opponent Penalty First Downs with 19 penalties.

After the game, Saints opponents have 21 first downs by penalty.

There is no positive penalty statistical trend for the Saints for 2020.

The 2019 penalty statistics were appalling.

Current and past statistics can be found at TeamRankings(TR). TeamRankings

All I'm saying is there is no way a team only commits one penalty in 60 minutes plus OT

This is what kills me, the ticky-tack penalties that keep opponents drives alive. Last night wasn’t as bad except for the no call on the T. Hill face mask tackle. But the other PI calls against us have been atrocious these last two years.

Good stuff (well, not really, but you know what I mean ).

I'd have to think the secondary makes up the vast majority of these penalties, so I have no idea how there has not been a railing of Dennis Allen and Aaron Glenn.

They didn't call a pretty clear false start either
