With limited cap space, this will be a much better team in 2020 & beyond. They have filled a lot of holes and added depth where needed; OL, DL, TE, RB & KR. If I missed someone, please add.
* QB - Bridgewater - a year in the program with Brees - heir apparent
* OL - Nick Easton - solid replacement for the suddenly retiring Unger - can play guard if the Tiger develops at C
* DE - Mario Edwards - solid DE from the Rams
* DT - Malcom Brown - from the Pats - enough said
* TE - Cooks - Drew will make him an All-Pro
* RB -Lativous Murray - major upgrade IMO - in the Saints system, he will kill it
* KR - The #1 punt returner in the NFL last year - Tommy who ?

If Cameron Meridith is healthy at WR, we can go into a draft looking at best available inatead of having a major need.

Jared cook

Mario edwards is from the giants

And that is 1 of the biggest question marks to me.
Will meredith do anything this year?

I was high on him before we signed him but after watching him play in limited time I'm sort of doubtful, unless it was all the injury

Murray an upgrade to INgram CALL me when he breaks a tackle. Short yardage is gonna be hell this year. Also you go from a 100 to a 20 in the emotional leader category

Murray is not going to be a “major upgrade” over Ingram. That part is a total fantasy. But I agree with your overall sentiment. This FA period has been stellar for us.

Loomis is killing it, but Murray is a downgrade and you have made a lot of other assumptions. Cook has the physical characteristics but he isn’t necessarily young. Easton has a lot to prove .

Murray isn’t a downgrade imo. It’s a wash.

kind of a lateral move in my opinion as a player.

seems Ingram commanded a lot of respect from his teammates and losing veteran leadership like that is an intangible that shouldn't be ignored.

It's different from years past. We're not making these crazy signings. We're making a bunch of solid ones and not strapping ourselves with a bunch of dead money.

We probably already had one of the top rosters in the NFL.

We're not done yet either.

If we can get one or two guys to contribute in the draft we'll be in really good shape.

Great job by the front office. Would like to see a DE, and a another OL. I think we are OK at receiver with the developing kids, Ginn, and Merideth if healthy.

Major upgrade is a major stretch. What have you seen from Murray to give you such an outlandish thought? Ingram and Kamara complimented each other well as RB1a/1b.

I do believe, if Ingram HAD to go, Murray is probably the most reasonable replacement. We will have to see how he fits exactly but he is obviously a bigger back with great pass blocking ability. Hopefully he can break a tackle or two...

With that being said, I’m with you on everything else and am excited to see this FA class help make this team better, especially that Brees > Cook connection!
