re: Official Adrian Peterson Hype Thread
There is only one running back on the team that could have more carries than him and AD could easily become "the guy" if healthy. Unless CSP called you and promised you he'd give Ingram more carries then you have no idea what you're talking about.

Let's say AD is healthy all year, will you come back to this thread in week 17 to bend the knee?

Well Breesus looks like your boy bama is already worried this guarantee of AD not leading the saints in rushing won't work out well for you

The fact that he has much less carries than someone like Gore, along with AP being an absolute freak athlete, gives me a lot of optimism. If Gore can contribute at a high level at his age, so can Peterson. He will finally have a great line, and a HoF QB. Big year for AP if he stays healthy.

I find it hard to put any stock in that stat when AP missed 2 years due to knee injury. Frank Gore last season was fine, but he got 64% of the carries for Indy last season, or 76% if you take away Luck's runs. I understand he was running behind a garbage OLine, but there is no way AP gets that close to that timeshare in NO. I think he will be well under 200 carries this season.

I think expectations need to be tempered. AP is a great player, but he's old and running on 2 fixed tires. The Saints should give him 10 touches a game, keep him healthy and let him run out the game/ give Ingram a breather. I don't think he's the best back on this roster at this point in his career, but he could be a nice contributor for us.

End of the day, if AP makes it 16 games, I put his ceiling at just under 800 yards and 7 TDs. That's not hate, that's a realistic expectation.

I mean crazier shite has happened than a HOF, physical freak aging Rb leading a team in yards and carries.

I think he gets around 160-180 carries, but that doesn't mean he can't be extremely productive

I'm not saying he'll rush for 1k+, but the Saints don't need him to do that

Torn ACL in 2011
Torn meniscus in 2016

So we are clear, Ben Rothlisberger tore his meniscus last year and missed two weeks. He opted for the "clean up" surgery, which allows a quicker return. Dude played 11 games after, including a run to the AFC title game.

Peterson had the full repair, which is a longer recovery, but puts the chance of reinjury at nearly nil.

I don't give a rats arse about AP's carries or the argument.

Just stay healthy and it will be solved game to game.

Just tell me please tell me HOW is there NO way Adrian Peterson gets more carries than Mark Ingram

The only way Adrian Peterson gets less carries than Ingram is if he is a complete SHELL of his former self. Maybe you're right and he is. But if he is 85% of the old AP, he should lead this team in carries. End of story

High chance they are within 20-30 or so total carries of one another by seasons end. They will both get a ton of work.

I agree coco. These fans are really buying into the espn and NFLN "AD is done" narrative. We didn't sign him to be Tim Hightower

There will only be 25-35 carries a game, going off of the 69.1 plays per game we ran last year. Assume Kamara gets 5, that leaves 20-30 carries for Ingram and AP to split. I would imagine they split it like pretty much evenly depending on the hot hand. I have no doubt that AP can end up with more carries, but I don't think it's a for gone conclusion.

Im excited about AP but after watching his highlights throughout the years I see why they compare LF7 to AP. Bookmark this if you want but I see fournette becoming a saint eventually. He loves new orleans and will be back in the big easy eventually.
