Alvin Kamara..

Don't know if that's more good for Davenport or bad for Kamara.

I'm going to go with good for Davenport because we've already seen Kamara's speed and there's nothing to be worried about there.

Alvin looks in shape from all the videos ive seen.

I think Marcus is a dormant DPOY if we just coach him properly. Which up until last year, I would have said we wouldn't.

The "New Orleans Saints on nola.com" you tube channel literally posted about 15 OTA videos/interviews yesterday.

So there's plenty of OTA info out there.

247 reports that when June 1st cuts take effect the Saints will officially pocket 3 Million in salary cap savings from cutting Fleener putting them $7,228,973 under the salary cap.

The Advocate reports that Ken Crawley the blossoming UDFA CB in a contract season(RFA) is working on finishing the big play. Crawley had 17 pass breakups putting him at 11th in the league last season but only has 1 pick for his career. Coach Glenn and Crawley have made it a priority to focus specifically on that skill set this offseason.

New Orleans Advocate reports Okafor is making his final push in his ACL recovery in order to attempt to be at full strength for training camp. Barring any setbacks he should open the season as the starter opposite of Cam Jordan.

247's stars of OTAs
1. Taysom Hill QB
quote:

Anyone who has seen the backup quarterback take reps in OTAs this offseason will tell you that Hill has almost completely locked down the No. 2 position behind Drew Brees. Though he made a name for himself last season as an extra help on special teams, and quite a good one at that, it appears the Saints still have designs on giving the 27 year old every chance to earn the second slot. Hill has stood out in practice and earned some pretty serious compliments from coaches and players alike.

2. Tre'quan Smith WR - Fast, Reliable hands
3. Marcus Davenport DE - Explosive, Needs technique work badly as Armstead has kept him in check all OTA
4. J.T. Barrett QB - Looks poised and polished enough to challenge for 3rd QB
5. Boston Scott RB
quote:

"I think he has good balance and vision," head coach Sean Payton said of the rookie back. "We felt when we watched him we saw someone around the ball with pretty good pad level, he is explosive and he can do some things in the passing game. We also see him as a returner. So, for him it's really picking up the protections, all the challenges of a first-year running back that they have. But so far, he's doing well."

6. Michael Thomas WR - Looks focused and prepared to attempt to best his own numbers.
7. Demario Davis LB - Jack of all trades LB
8. Patrick Robinson - Appears like an immediate slot upgrade in practice

Sean Payton Q&A

quote:

How valuable do you think it is Marcus Davenport goes up against Terron Armstead in these workouts on a daily basis to kind of throw him into the fire? "Look the competition. He's received a lot of snaps with the first group with being Oak (Alex Okafor) down and Trey (Trey Hendrickson) being down. But I think when you get into the start of training camp when (for example) you're a younger receiver and you're going against a veteran cornerback, you quickly recognize that what you've been doing is not enough now, and you understand that to get a pressure, or sack requires significant technique, get off, leverage, all those things. So, I think it's the essence of getting better."

damn, just how bad does Savage suck if he's already behind an UDFA QB, and trying to fend off an UDFA rookie...

He did. Some reporter must have had a Freudian slip or was just sloppy.

But he does seem well ahead of schedule which is great news and gives hope he can return to form.
