Was watching Fox & Friends just now and Frank D'Amico was coming on to talk about his lawsuit. The news anchor showed pictures of the play, stating that the NFL removed their rights to show the video footage.

Just further evidence that the NFL is just waiting for this to go away without having to respond/comment on the situation.

LINK to video

"We can't show the video anymore due to rights"

Edited for spelling ... it's early

Fox pays billions of dollars for the right to air NFL games.....no way the league office can dictate this.....

I guess they are within their rights to do this, but it merely adds to the stench.

I wonder if the Saints have their own footage.
ETA That they can let media use, or does Goodell have veto power over that>

Uh, they're NFL too.

Check the Saints website and see what you think.

No, Vito had redeeming qualities.

Goodell is Barzini or Tattaglia.

The Saints may be complicit in this cover up. Maybe the Saints got paid off too. Why did CSP throw on 1st and 2nd down during the end of regulation? Any pee wee coach would have not done what he did.

Not suprised. NFL is like a damn dictatorship.

Separately, when Damico was on, did he explain that the Rams were beat on that play and they had to intentionally interfere to prevent a touchdown (they admitted it)?

I feel like most people who don’t understand football are like “OMG - they missed a flag. Big whoop”.

But when you put it in that context it justifies some outrage, IMHO.

Fox network and Fox news are different companies. And fox only has the rights to show live games and the NFL owns all the video. The NFL can do whatever they please with the video.

No, basically he was just talking about the rule that gives RG the discretion to retroactively go back and apply 1 of multiple options (change outcome of game, replay game from beginning, replay game from where incident occurred).

Fox's in-house expert said that the lawsuit is dead in the water because we're suing that RG didn't use the discretion allowed by the rule. But his argument is that it's his discretion to not do anything, therefore he did utilize the rule.

I’d be surprised if the NFL could prevent Fox News from showing video of a newsworthy event. Wouldn’t that fall under fair use?
