Need to look in on picking up the two safeties from the Seahawks

Kam Chancellor and Thomas. Those two guys would be a ball-hawking safeties for the secondary which I must needed

Why don't we just grab Antonio Brown and Von Miller while we are at it?
Posted on 1/17/18 at 9:10 pm to BayouRat15
If cam chancellor takes 8-9mill a year i rather pay him than vacarro!!! Instant impact.. Bell, Chancellor, and Williams on the field at the same time??? Wow with crawley, lattimore and breaux... Tell me thats not enticing!!!

I dont think we can afford both of those two lol

Is there a position we need less on defense than safety?
Posted on 1/17/18 at 9:34 pm to moneyg
Trade Vonn Bell and don't resign Vaccaro then sign Chancellor!!!

We don't need brown. We need to focus on a tight end

Let’s pay big money for aging players past their prime at a position we don’t need. Tell the truth, this is Mickey Loomis isn’t it?
Posted on 1/17/18 at 10:08 pm to BayouRat15
They’re both in their late twenties and going to cost a shite ton of money each so no
Posted on 1/17/18 at 10:09 pm to BayouRat15
Kam may never play football again... Thomas wants to go to Dallas
Posted on 1/17/18 at 11:18 pm to BayouRat15
Once again I ask if they got released, because both are still under contract through 2018 (2020 in Chancellor's case).
Why do people keep bringing this up over and over? Is some news site reporting this?

It's been reported that Seattle may part ways with Chancellor this offseason.

But they haven't yet, and that report iirc wasn't from a reputable source. Just someone doing guess work.
And the reason for them moving on from Chancellor is because he may never play again. If he can play they aren't cutting him. So that's all a bunch of nothing anyway.
And that still leaves Thomas being under contract for 2018 too.

No, it was multiple articles, ESPN, PFT, NFL.com, etc.

The only talk about Chancellor never playing again has only come directly from Pete Carroll. Read between the lines. Carroll already has given his "reason" to cut Kam this offseason.

Thomas isn't getting cut. The long article ESPN had on the Legion of Boom being broken up, harped on Sherman & Chancellor being cut this offseason. It's not financially feasible for the Seahawks to cut Thomas.
Now trading Thomas maybe an option. Either he or KJ Wright maybe out of Seattle after that ugly spat they had that unfolded publicly in the media.

No doubt the legion of boom will break up this summer.
We really need an elite TE and another elite CB or S. Want Jimmy G back.

Breaux will be released. Unless he takes a pay cut. Hes too injury prone. I’d rather try and sign a good vet.

Yeah I mentioned elsewhere mayt, look at their cap space: 13.74m
Free agents:
Paul Richardson
Jimmy Graham
Luke Joeckel
Sheldon Richardson
They will not touch Earl Thomas, Richard Sherman, or Bobby Wagner on defense. Those are their core 3 for sure.
Kam Chancellor: 9.8m cap hit, 7.5m dead money, 2.3m saved if he's cut or traded
KJ Wright: 8.2mil cap hit, 1.0mil dead money, 7.2mil saved if he's cut or traded. He is also a FA after 2018.
Cliff Avril: 8.0mil cap hit, 500k dead money, 7.5mil saved if he's cut. He also just got a neck injury/disc injury and was on IR this year. underwhelming and getting old, Frank Clark also stepped up the last 2 years and is the obvious starter across Bennett.
Jeremy Lane: 7.25mil cap hit, 2.5mil dead, 4.75mil saved. He played like arse, they need another guy across Sherman.
Seattle is officially in cap hell. They cut Lane and Avril and they're back up to 26mil, but they're still missing links at RB, OL, TE, WR2, DT, backup DE, and CB
they have too many mouths to feed and they idiotically traded away the 2nd for a rental DT

Amukamara, Malcom Butler, Morris Claiborne, Brent Grimes, Breeland, and Byron Maxwell are all free against. Couple of them would be more expensive but someone would be on “prove it” deals.

No need to cut Breaux or to expect a pay cut. His contract is expiring and he'll be a restricted free agent.
So I'd expect the Saints to tender him and look for a trade.

I don’t see anyone trading for him tho. Unless it’s a late Draft pick
