That link is for Karim Moore, not Jamerson.

It's the simple fact those two had actual upsides and we kept jt gray for God Knows why.

Jamerson appears to be getting more PT than Moore on their respective teams. I liked the Jamerson pick, and I still think he has potential. I would have MUCH rather SP have kept Jamerson than Gray.......although I think most of us would have rather that have happened

We have depth at safety. Lacking talent though.

re: Natrell Jamerson decent draft pick after all...He's starting to accumulate statsPosted on 11/21/18 at 10:24 am to infantry1026 It appears the Coleman signing combined with Banjo and Bell stepping up their game resulted in the cutting of Jamerson. Saints may have drafted Jamerson with the thinking they may cut Banjo or Bell (to save cap space) but then Bell outplayed Coleman and Banjo outplayed Jamerson.

Jamerson was drafted as a safety, the Saints like his speed and quickness enough to play him at corner. He entered training camp as a corner and looked good playing the position.

What does that even mean? Payton said in his draft day press conference that Moore would play safety and Jamerson would play corner.

I definitely wanted to keep Jamerson and/or Moore over Gray, but I think it's a bit early to say he's decent at this point based on 7 tackles and 1 pass defense.

He's played 78 snaps on defense compared to 89 on special teams.

I'm not sure if it was due to injury or someone playing poorly ahead of him, but he basically started (85% of the snaps) one game against Mia at safety while not having one defensive snap previously, and was either benched or phased out the next game against Den (33% of the snaps) and didn't play any defense the last game.

Not bad for a rookie 5th rounder to get some snaps, but it really doesn't tell us how his career is going.

Right. From jump Payton said Jamerson would be worked in at corner and Moore at safety, and that's where they practiced and played in preseason.

But more realistically they were drafted as special teamers with potential to be backups.

They apparently got beat out by Gray (which I vehemently disagree with) on special teams and were buried on the depth chart at their positions.

Texans saw Jamerson as good safety depth and snatched him up when we cut him. I have no doubt both he and Moore would have been on our PS if they weren't claimed.

Maybe his cutting wasn't a product of him being a bust (or miss by the talent evaluators) but rather the Saints having better than average safety depth -- or at least the belief by coaches that we have better players.

Saints made the same mistake his college coaches did when he was first starting, thinking he could play CB instead of S.

He's played in two of 10 games. Didn't play any in the last game. Had 56, then 22 snaps in the 2 games before that. Is that decent?
