More Goodell hypocrisy?

Goodell maintains there is no difference between pay-for-performance & pay-to-injure with regard to "bounties".
He insists bounties are non-contractual cap-violating rewards for on-the-field performances, which especially if they happen to include an intentional or unintentional "cart-off" injury, the players who offered & executed these "bounties" must be punished severely & labeled an abhorrent evil.
We know now that Goodell, despite having knowledge of the Giants in 2011 & Green Bay in 2007 running the same extra-curricular rewards program, has refused to punish those teams & its players.
So being the hypocritical little bitch that Roger is, it's no wonder that he never went after Tom Brady when he bought all of his offensive linemen Audi Q7 SUV's at appox $50K each. Chargers LB Jonas Mouton (shoulder) and Dolphins CB Jimmy Wilson (hamstring) are two defensive players that never played another down, being "carted-off" after facing the Pats handsomely-rewarded offensive line.
Chris Johnson, MDJ, Ray Rice, & Adrian Peterson have over the years have rewarded their offensive linemen with Rolex's, Cadillac Escalades, & plasma tv's for whacking defensive players. Arian Foster didn't make enough money at the time, so he bought his OL dinner for demolshing defensive players. If Goodell wasn't such a two-face, Reggie Bush & his OL would be in exile for all the Segways rewarded last year.
Should Goodell really tarnish the reputations of those players & severely punish them for these non-contractual cap-violating "rewards" based on on-the-field performance? Of course, not.
Just stop being a fricking hypocrite, Roger.

Anyone here still have that Vikings game on their DVR? I wonder if the video evidence is the same or was it tampered.

This is the only so-called leg Roger still has to stand on. They clearly stated the Saints had a pay for injury program - thus calling it bounty. Sure, they can say pay for performance is a violation. They'd just best investigate EVERY team for it then.
Honestly, I'm beginnning to feel some confidence in a penalty reduction at some point. the NFL has muddied it's character so badly with this fiasco they ahave but one choice to try and right the ship. Admit you made a mistake, Roger. Do as DeMaurice Smith is urging you to do.

As far as one player buying gifts for his teammates, I don't think it should be a big deal or seen as some cap violation.
Even the Saints big hit pool while it may be an ethical violation, if the coaches or someone outside of the organization didn't put money in that pool, it shouldn't be seen as extra benefits on top of the contract/cap violations.
The money that the players put in is their own money. In that case, there isn't any extra money coming in on top of the annual salaries that the organization has already committed. So it can't be a cap violation. It's player A giving his earned money to player B. Now, I can see where that gets muddled up if the coaches or someone like Ornstien (SP?) toss in money. IMO, thats "extra" money in addition to the contracted cash from the players pockets.

You mean Ornstein - the guy whose name is mentioned on the same piece of paper as Vitt's contribution?

So Drew Brees can't his lineman out for a dinner if they have a great game? Does that constitute pay for play? Suprised they can give out rings after the Superbowl since the league shelled out money to reward the teams season. How about the Pro Bowl? They pay people for a successful season.

Exactly my point. All the world agrees there's nothing wrong with a side incentive or reward for kicking arse all season.
But if you put a few bucks in the kitty during the season, then two-face Roger gets his self-righteous panties in a wad.

Brady didn't buy cars for his linemen...
The story is 4 years old and people still don't know the "truth"?...Blindly believing reports of dropping $50,000 cars in the laps of players is the same blind belief that has everyone else around the country thinking the Saints targeted players with intent to injure.

I sadly have zero confidence this will occur.

Don't hold your breath brother.
