Probably the best one I've seen so far, although I think we go with Robinson over Cadet.

I like how Trip actually makes sense and explains his rationale.

But for some reason, I feel like Rufus should make the cut.
Or at least, PS.

I hope it's Robinson over Cadet, but I think Robinson not playing any special teams might hurt him. Even though I think Cadet is useless at returns

I don't think Johnson is quite ready. He's not only playing a different position from college, but he was from a small school.

Not a bad projection but I disagree on a few of his choices...the biggest being Cadet over Robinson.

The last 2 preseason games are big for a few of these guys.

Very similar to mine and basically the spots we differ comes down to how many guys you carry or if it's going to be this guy or that guy.

I just skimmed but what I saw I think we are on the same page with how guys are doing and what the team is looking for.

Differences:

Cadet over Robinson. I agree this could still go either way. I think we are each just giving the other a slight edge.

Olsen over Jones. Olsen has an edge as he can play center, but Jones can play tackle(he was recently moved to guard) and that is usually where you have more injuries(teams almost always bring 4 tackles and usually only 4 inside linemen; guards and centers just seem to be more durable or less exposed to injury) I think Jones has the higher upside also.

6 ILBs instead of 4. If we keep 6 I think those are the other 2 we keep. I just think at most we keep 5 and if we took 11 LBs into the season it would be 5 ILBs and 6 OLBs.

IAQ over Leonhard. This is still a tough call and I think it may be the last cut. Neither is standing out but both are quality reserves and good special teamers.

I kept DE Johnson but in my next 53 I'm taking him out and adding a LBer(not sure which one yet).

I kept CB Sweeting. I do think it's very possible we only take 4 corners or even 4 safeties though. I think the final number of DBs will be 9 or 10 though(4 of one and 5 of the other).

My 53:

Dude has too many at safety and not enough at CB. Bush or Quduss needs to go. I say Quduss. Sweeting makes the team. At TE I'm not sold on Higgins making the team. At RB Khiry Robinson def makes the team. On the OL I thought Marcel Jones would unseat Strief. Strief is the weak link on the OLine. Switch out Jay Richardson for Rufus Johnson. A lot of iffy calls by Triplett.

Tanner and Hakim to the developmental unit.

Not enough at corner is due to Jenkins and Vaccaro playing nickel. You have to keep 9 DBs at least and he just kept a special teamer(IAQ) over just a backup who may never see the field and gave that 10th DB spot to the LBers.

I still like Sweeting to make the team.

Can Rufus be redshirted (IR'd)?

I do too which is why he's on my 53, but I get where he's coming from.

If you read his explanations you can see where he is coming from. He said White could still get beat out by Carr or Sweeting(and I agree completely; too close to call right now) and they could also take a 5th corner.

He has to have at least some legit injury and be willing to agree to it.

He is still too raw to make the 53 so unless he picks it up quick he will be out(but on the PS). I have Richardson, Atkins, and Martin ahead of him right now and we may only take 2 of them.

He's from a VERY small school and hasn't made a big impression in the first two games. Unless he dominates in the next two games, there shouldn't be any threat of his being picked up by another team, so there's no reason to IR him over putting him on the practice squad.

I think Griffin is our red shirt.

No reason to IR Griffin. He hasn't been spectacular and he is in a system that is different than a lot of teams run.

He would have to take up a spot on someone's 53, take time to learn the playbook and language, and get a feel for the new system.

That's something you do in the offseason, not when you're in the fire practicing for games that count. You can't spare reps to a guy that looked pretty good against 3rd stringers.

Jones was horrible in the first game. Camp body bad.

To be fair, I didn't spot-watch him in the 2nd game.

We'll see. Subpar against the Chefs, but 5 of 6 for 69 yards against Oakland. If he plays well in week 4 (probably won't see the field Sunday) he may be a target for other teams. We don't just have to worry about teams picking him up now, we have to worry about teams with bad QB situations picking him up later in the year. Again, I think it all rests on how he plays in week 4. I could see the Saints not playing him at all to hide him, or playing him all game to see how he does.

They had him at tackle that game correct? If not then no I didn't notice him playing poorly at guard. Still need to go back and look at the second and third stringers more on the Oline especially.

But they recently moved him to guard after a few injuries to other guys and Harris outplaying him at RT. I think he looked better against Oakland.

Edit:
On Griffin, 5 of 6 is nice but a very small sample size. I don't think teams can realistically take that chance based on that. But I do agree the worst thing would be for the Saints to give him a bunch of reps in the next 2 games and he continues to produce like that.

I agree with everyone saying keep Robinson over Cadet, Cadet just doesnt look explosive like he did last year.

Also like the idea of keeping 4 cbs knowing that Jenkins or Vaccaro will play some nickel. But like Triplet said thats going to depend on if they keep Roby. (keep Roby and have 4 cbs, cut him and keep 5 )
