re: Mike Florio: Don't be surprised if Sean Payton's name comes up for coaching vacanciesPosted by Northshore Saint

That's not going to happen. For one, as everyone has mentioned, he has total control of the roster and direction of the team. The dynamic with him, Loomis, and Ireland is more like a partnership than a boss/employee relationship. Gayle Benson seems to be holding things steady and isn't trying to influence any major changes or start conflicts like some owners feel compelled to do. Sean basically has it made where he's at.
The new trend I see is teams trying to find the next Sean McVay. A young offensive genius QB whisperer. I've already read articles about Zac Taylor, his QB coach, possibly getting some looks from Green Bay and Cleveland.

This is how they get you. He said don’t be surprised if his name comes up. Of course Sean’s name will come up, but that doesn’t mean he is even interested.

Yeah, frick you Mike. Why would he want to go to any other organization? He literally could kill a kid and Gayle and Mickey won't fire him.
There will be a circle jerk media blitz....
Then everyone in the Saints organization will give themselves another pay raise.

which is a self fulfilling statement. then someone says his name has come up, and there's chatter and it doesn't amount to anything.

Drew's time is coming to an end, both Green Bay/Cleveland have franchise QB's,
By time Green Bay builds a competitive roster again Rodgers will be damn near 40.

Don't be surprised if the national media attempts to frick over New Orleans' professional sports teams.

Thoughts?
The Browns? As in the Cleveland Browns?
Hey where in the podcast did they mention the possibility of Bill Belichick leaving to go coach one of these two up and coming teams with potential franchise QB's? Cause after all Brady is getting close to hanging it up too.

The is one of the dumbest logical conclusions I have seen Florio put out there. So, he thinks Payton will leave NOLA because Drew is close to retirement, and one of the first places he will consider is a team whose franchise QB will be in the league for a few years longer than Drew?
Besides, wouldn't it say more for SP's legacy if he were to keep this team in contention and even win another SB with a successor to Drew? He talks about Payton possibly being the 1st coach with a SB with 2 teams, how many HC's have won a SB with 2 different starting QBs?

this would be the one time that the claim “X hates the Saints” would hold water
Florio loves the Vikings and Steelers and ever since that 2009 championship game, I would say it’s absolutely impacted the way he covers the saints. He was the loudest banging the drum on overtime rule changes and bountygate (he flipped after he’d already been used) I wouldn’t say he hates the saints
Darin Gantt is a die hard panthers fan and definitely hates the saints, with a burning passion.
They used to have Gregg rosenthal, a Tulane grad, and he was a saints homer.

Don't be surprised if Mike Florio writes some dumb shite again next week.
Calling mayfield a franchise QB is a bit premature. I like him but come on. And leaving the saints for the Browns is about as realistic as me going to Europa tomorrow for vacation.
Sean can be in New Orleans where he has free reign to do whatever he likes with the backing of the owner and GM. OR he can go to any other place and be rope and tied to do things....
HMMMM Choice CHOICEs!

Cleveland is where you go if you have no other choice
a guy who is getting his first shot, or a guy who is getting his last.
right now, the list of teams payton could call and say he wants the job, and get their coach fired is larger than the list of teams that would say no. he's a proven commodity over a long period of time. and despite 12 years as a head coach, he's only 54.

This isn't "journalism". It's complete conjecture. IF Brees decides to retire after this season the Payton MIGHT not want to coach a team that will be in a bit of a rebuild.
Hell, why stop with Sean. Why not say "Don't be surprised if Belichick's name comes up if Brady decides to retire?" Would he not be interested in becoming the first coach to win a Super Bowl with two different franchises? Shit, Belicheck has proven he's MUCH better at winning Super Bowls than Sean?

Yes. Let's leave a done environment where you can run. Track meet and head north to freeze your fricking nuts off where you can't run all the crazy shite you like when everything is frozen.
