I said this during the game. We need him to play more, I don't know why but I rarely saw him in.
When he plays, he looks like he can contribute. So is it his injury taking time? Or lack of play book?

I think we are weak at wr outside of Thomas.
I think Payton sees this and that is why Taysom Hill had been in pass patterns more. Would have loved to get Tate.

Three wide receivers sets are hardly ever needed because of Kamara. Plus, Payton likes to use the fullback and multi-tight end sets quite a bit.
Smith is the choice as 2nd receiver over Meredith because of the need for a deep threat.

Smith can fill the role as a complement to Thomas. He made some huge catches tonight and he will only get better as the season goes on.

Meredith wasn’t available for OTAs and training camp and didn’t get to work on timing with Drew. Drew is very comfortable with MT13, Tre’Quan, Watson and Hill. Meridith is basically our Coleman at this point.
