Maybe it is because of past history or maybe I'm was just waiting for something bad to happen. but I didn't feel like we were going to go all the way.
I know it sounds strange coming from a 13-3 team, but having watched the Saints for many, many years I never saw that it factor and they definitely never had that killer instinct.
From the very first game against the Texans when the Saints took the lead at the end and then allowed the Texans to score in 2 plays to retake the lead.
Yes we drove the field and won the game, but should not have had to.
Now I'm not going to say that the Saints were better with Teddy. Obviously they were not, but it did seem like they were more focused and more composed. You don't win against Seattle on the road with out it.
The Saints were or are never comfortable with the lead and neither are the fans....
So the season was going to end somehow...Only one team is going to end the season happy. So whether it was at home today, at Green Bay or San Fran, home against Seattle or in the Super Bowl the chances of running the table were slim.
Maybe even more heartache the deeper you go. I knew this was the case when the Saints ended up the #3 seed. Playing Wild Card weekend, Road Game and then Championship Game. They might have been able to win a home game as the #2 seed and then win one road game or even host the NFC Championship game again, but the other path was too hard for this team and franchise.

I’m upset we were 13-3 and got a 3 seee and lost at home. I take solace in the fact that this team did not deserve to win the SB based on today’s performance.

Saints the last two seasons have turned me from a die hard to a whatever fan. Too many choking heartbreakers.
I am like you, wasn’t excited about the playoffs, didn’t expect anything and wasn’t surprised about another wasted good season.
I care way more about the passion in college football then guys like Kamara who plays with a “I don’t give A frick” attitude since his girlfriend left for the Ravens

Tired of the close losses and us shitting the bed one way or another every year. Last year we got screwed for sure. This year of course it was easily an OPI, but you know good and hell well we’re not getting the benefit of the doubt from the officials. Knowing this you need to leave no doubt. What is this 5 or six years in a row of this? The reason folks aren’t as upset is because it has become expected. The Saints will find a way to lose.

i wasnt mad i expected a letdown, this team didnt have the cohesiveness as last year, whether it was mark ingram leaving or the defense being counted on to much it just wasnt the same. Its over

I felt last years team had a better chance of going all the way than this years team but were robbed by the NFL...

We are a good enough team to do anything but it has to be UNDER Sean Payton. The man got us to Divisional Round, NFC Championship and Wildcard Play off consistently with a 13-3 record. Would you rather be like the cow girls? Or Green Bay like last year? What about other teams in the NFC? Gaints? Sometime it doesnt break your way and the NFL and godell has a vendetta against us. So be it.

You’re not wrong. I didn’t read all that. But I’m not upset either. Over it. You could slowly get over this one as the game was being played and our big guys on the lines were getting buttfricked on national tv.

I think the fans and team weren’t hyped for this game. I barely paid attention all week and wasn’t that into it.
Just seems like we knew we were screwed once Seattle choked
