it appears that Mariota is not going to survive the offseason in Tennessee. TEN has been an utter disaster in terms of offensive development and stability while he has been there and i have faith that he may be salvageable with good coaching and a good system.

he's still pretty mobile and has great accuracy which is important for our offense. he'll only be 26 when next season starts and if he's cut from TEN we may be able to get him on a cheap deal (i'm not sure who else would invest in him for any money at this point, again, like Teddy B when he signed with the Jets)

Teddy B is gone after this year and we can't afford him unless Drew retires. i'm assuming Drew doesn't and we get 1-2 more years of him, which is why i was pondering if MM was a good prospect to kick the tires on and see if he can actually be salvaged by competent coaching and a competent franchise

I think he will be our next backup. I read the has had 3 Head Coaches and 4 schemes in 5 years

It will be an interesting offseason for QBs. There will be a lot of free agents and a bunch of draft picks.

Likely available vet QBs just off the top of my head.

Marcus Mariota
Jameis Winston
R. Fitzpatrick
Andy Dalton?
Case Kenum
Alex Smith?
Joe Flacco?
Cam Newton?
Teddy Bridgewater
Eli Manning
Chase Daniel
Colt McCoy
Ryan Tannehill

And guys like Brees, Brady, Rivers & Dak are all free agents this offseason.

I like him as an option with the chance to earn the job. I'd still draft one in the first round.

I can't believe the MM is only 26. Seems like he has been in the league forever

Wouldn't bother me in the least as a back up QB.

Never saw anything that screamed nfl starter though but in CSP I believe if he does.

Place he could start compete for a starting job if the team plans to either draft a rookie QB or move on from their starter:

Cinci
Miami
Denver
Chicago
Carolina
Tampa

Sure, I don't even know why that would be a risk.

You lost me. Who we talking about?

If SP believes, I'll believe, but this guy looks like hot garbage the couple of games I've seen him in this year.
