Many New Orleans fans may not realize this.

The Saints have been America's team since the Super Bowl year. They have been prime time television for the NFL with their high powered offense, respected QB, and wild fans. I'm telling you right now. The number one interest in pro football this Sunday throughout the USA will be Taysom Hill. I rarely second guess Sean Payton, and I do not second guess him on his selection to play Taysom this week. The Saints will roll with this explosive QB we have running our home team. Get your popcorn fellas, the nation will be watching our QB of the future bust another hole in the Falcons arse.

I bet Taysom starts but Winston takes over the majority of the game if the first scripted drive happens to fail.

I’m super excited about him starting, it’s going to be awesome win or lose, he’ll put on a hell of a show.

they are playing the Falcons so anything is possible.

just like the time you said Cam Meredith "won't catch a single pass for the Saints"

they play the falcons and his first catch was a TD.

but seriously I'm looking forward to this game cause Brees is gonna be gone after this year it would appear. I wanna see what Payton dials up

Don’t agree with everything you said, but I sure love the enthusiasm!

Best record in the NFL over the last 4 years. Plenty big sample size and everyone of those playoff losses over that span have come on the last play of the game. Brees is gone though so we need a QB of the future now to remain at the pinnacle though.

They still don’t have the National fan base appeal as a Steelers, Cowboys or Packers.

I still think the Saints brand is strong but still limited to Louisiana and gulf coast. That’s about it.

I don't know about being America's Team, but they are by far the dominant team nationally in the NFC South. I read an article a few years ago that by fan interaction online and merchandise sales they were more popular than every other team in the NFC South combined.

Given that I grew up with them as a pitiful also-ran I'll take it. As long as Payton is here this is a top drawer franchise.

I think it’s more this than OP. But I don’t think it is limited to Louisiana and Gulf coast. 2 things win hearts and minds outside of home territory.

Winning consistently. Check.

Players - Brees, Thomas, Kamara, Jordan. Check.

Every football fan definitely knows the first 3 well and I would guess most know Cam as well.

In some cases there is a 3rd factor which we have. When someone says Bill Cowher you say Steelers. Belichick patriots. Andy Reid is a “national coach”. Pete carrol is now. Sean Payton SAINTS undoubtedly is.
