And yes we should.

Would you guys want to mortgage the next 5 years for the next 2 we have left with drew, I probably would.

But i dont have to make profit with the franchise.

If the Saints actually wanted to make a deal, there's only one way a trade for Mack could possibly work.

The Raiders would have to want Davenport.

We're actually deep at DE now with Cam, Trey, Alex and Marcus. While Mack is a superstar, I don't think it'd be wise to pay that price (both contract demands and the assets needed to trade for him). His contract would likely be around $20 million per year (maybe $10-$15 million guaranteed), and I doubt the Raiders would give him up without getting at least a 2019 1st in return (which we don't have).

Nah. We’re finally acting like a legit organization and not kicking the can/thinking we’re one player away. Trading the farm for a disgruntled player would be something we’d try in 2014. I’d actually like us to continue to be a top class franchise long after Drew is gone.

This move would reek of the desperation we’ve worked so hard as an organization and front office to dispel in the last few seasons.

YES YES YES. I don't give a shite if we have to sell the farm. We have 2-3 years left with Drew. We go ALL THE frick IN these last 2-3 years and we may win 2 Super Bowls during Drew's final 2-3 years

We unfortunately not in a position to give up franchise draft capital which we may need to draft a new qb to acquire someone who’ll demand free agent money at a position we are actually very deep with talent in.

This was my thought as well. I'd make that trade if we coudl lock Mack down long term.

Like others have said, unlikely to give up any draft picks with no 1 next year.

Well put. I think we finally learned our lesson with Jairus Byrd. Moving up to grab Davenport won't seem like such a crazy move by week 4 when he gets in the groove and starts getting consistent pressure.
