I mean, Joe Burrow did throw the ball 125 more times in 2019 than Jones did in 2020.
Think how many more catches Smith could have had.
Joe Threw more passes but the difference doesn’t make up for the 19 more TDS Joe threw. It also doesn’t change the fact that Joe was more than just Chase.
Jones is a mediocre QB if Smith is just average.
Hell if Smith is just good and catches 10 TDS Jones is AJ McCarron.

Smith was Alabama's second leading receiver until Waddle went down. If Waddle had been available the entire season Jones would have easily thrown for 50+ TDs.

So Then he must have averaged a ton of TDS in those first 4 games with Waddle.
Let’s check the Math:
TDS per game first 4 games: 3
TDS per game last 9 games: 3.2
He also threw half his picks in those first 2 games. It looks like he became a better more efficient passer when he only had 1 option to throw to.

Not strange at all. Considering Joe Burrow threw 40 TDS to WRs not named Chase and played.
Well, and another 18 to 1st rd pick Justin Jefferson
And another 13 to top 50 pick Terrace Marshall

Jones threw a higher percentage of his TDS to Smith and Waddle (who played 4 full games) than Joe threw to Chase and Jefferson
Tide, I respect you as a poster...but can you put a moratorium on bringing up Joe Burrow when anyone brings up Jones? At this point I don’t even remember if you like Jones or not, I just see a Jones thread and know you will be here soon to compare him to Burrow.

The point is people, mostly LSU fans, like to claim Mac Jones is a product of his surrounding talent while also ignoring Burrow had way better weapons at his disposal.
Hell, I even started a thread on the SEC Rant yesterday asking who had the better WR corps and the answers were overwhelmingly LSU: LINK
One of the posters in the thread summed it up best:
quote:
Gotta love the LSU contradiction they put themselves in.
According to them, when talking pro potential Mac was gifted the greatest weapons of all time therefore he’s not good like Burrow.
But then in these comparisons, they pick LSU as having the better WRs.
So Burrow can be individually good WHILE having a better group of amazing WRs but the same doesn’t apply to Mac
It's not about comparing Jones to Burrow. It's about showing people how ignorant their takes on Jones are when they overlook what made Burrow successful.

Doesn't seem like that at all.
You might have an idea the week of the draft after the roster has settled, but any guess right now is just that: a guess.

TB got rid of Winston because he is not a leader or a SB QB which is obvious. Why in the hell would the Saints want him? Mac has a better chance at being that guy than the finger eater.

Mac Jones will not be a good nfl quarterback IMO.

That's exactly it, one guy didn't know what the other did, on the video he slowly walks out the store, kinda stops to grab a bite on camera and just strolls off, how the hell do you steal something like that anyway, cooked crab off the shelf lol
