This means he would be good regardless of who is throwing the ball to him? I think so. Dude can just ball.

Sooooooo about that whole Drew Brees is the reason he’s good and we shouldn’t pay him thing? Where’s that crowd?

2 of those on my FF team.

CGM is a f'ing monster and a true blessing for the Saints. Imagine paying a WR big money and actually getting everything out of him that he's been doing every season.

I admit I was one of the He isn't going to be that great without Drew crowd. Gladly here to eat a huge helping of crow.

I think the argument wasn't so much that Thomas isn't a great WR, as much as was it logical to pay a WR that much money? Clearly he is a good player regardless of QB. But could you get almost as good of production (not from an individual perspective, but from an overall team perspective) with just having 2-3 "lesser" but cheaper WR's and a great QB? The Saints led the league (or close to it) for many years prior to Thomas' arrival.

It's a moot point now since he signed the contract and Saints fans are MORE than happy to have him around for what appears to be a while. But I could see the logic from both sides of the argument.

That is 9 catches and 108.6 yards per game. Those are All Pro numbers.

The two most important facts about MT13 is if you get the ball in his vicinity he is more than likely going to come down with it and if he takes a shot from the defender he will likely retain the ball. A truly world class possession type receiver. Perfect for this offense.

I feel like he had two games where the offense was completely ineffective, (no fault of his really) the really has reduced his output so far this season.

This is why I didn’t mind the contract. His numbers suggested he caught every bad pass as well. He’s just flat out great.

Yes. But that great QB is in his 40s now. Imagine this offense right now without Thomas.
