except Wilson isn’t exclusively running 3 yard routes. Now you tell me what pass is hard to complete. A 3 yard pass or one that travels further in ththe air

How can u say landry and snead are carbon copies of each other when jarvis has done it in college and since his rookie year.
Not saying i would pay him 14 mil or anything close but its obvious he is better than willie snead.
And the reason he caught most of his passes by the line is because they have a deep threat that was bill lazor s offense those years ans he is a slot receiver. He runs after the catch way better than snead and he hasnt ever disappeared not for one single game
Guys a baller and gives it his all every game.
But give me paul richardson and ill be happy

Fleener and coleman are in an offense where they are running seams and are catching the ball 20 yards down the field.
Its a different offense man u dont see fleener and coleman running the same routes as jarvis
They are stretching the field where jarvis runs underneath crossing routes you even said it yourself he doesnt have the speed

One might not even get a tender, the other might fetch over 10 million a year.
I guess the rest of the league and just on pins and needles waiting for good ole Snead to be released!!!

Snead might not be > Landry
But you guys are nuts to think a 14 million dollar slot receiver is a good idea.
Lets just look at the top 6 receiving options last year:
Brees 536 passes
Thomas: 149 targets
Kamara: 100 targets
Ginn: 70 targets
Ingram: 71 targets
Coleman: 38 targets
Fleener: 30 targets
Total: 457 passes (I'll leave the other 80 out of it, its bound to happen)
Assuming that Landry comes in, how does this go?
Thomas: 130 targets
Landry: 100 targets
Kamara: 80 targets
Ginn: 60 targets
Ingram: 40 targets
Coleman: 20 targets
Fleener: 20 targets
Total: 450 targets
Is a player who accumulates 70 receptions, 100 targets worth 14mil? Nope.

Not advocating spending 14 million on him.
10 million im down for though

it's a cost/benefit analysis
i'll put it another way. we can only afford to pay 1 WR #1 money. do you want that to be Jarvis Landry or Mike Thomas?

way too much given our roster and cap space

I really like Landry as a player, but he's definitely not the style of WR this team would really need.

I'm signing everyone to three-year contracts or however long Brees impending guaranteed money will be for. As soon as he leaves we won't need their services anymore

there's no reason one of the top WR in free agency needs to just sign a 3 year deal though...

Snead caught like 5 passes last year. How can anyone say Snead is better than Landry... I get Snead is way cheaper but he was very unproductive last season as well. Landry is a sure thing and would compliment well with Thomas

Plenty of top free agents take more guaranteed money in shorter year contracts.

Hit UFA again at 28 and cash in at the new market high.

I don't want to pay Landry but the people acting like we can count on Snead going forward are ridiculous.

9 TDs seems like eating to me
Posted on 2/19/18 at 10:38 am to Lester Earl
I want to reiterate though, I think signing Jarvis would be unwise. I would much rather us shore up the defense with that money and either pick a tight end in the draft or sign one. Mike Gesicki from Penn St is my dude. Don't know when he's supposed to go but he's gonna be a good on.
