We were doing just fine with Jameis at QB. Our WRs were honestly the biggest issue. We need to draft a stud to pair up with MT and get a solid veteran in free agency to add to depth.

Also we need to find a TE that doesn’t suck.

[quote]Sounds like you really want Winston. How good do you think Brees would have been with the same receivers

In his prime very good! He would have made them better

You need to continue pondering the great mysteries of the human body Why do we have butt cracks instead of just butt holes? and step away from observations about Saints QB play because you are definitely out of your element.

Matt Ryan has been garbage with one of the better WR groups, and you think he can step in and play with this oline & WRs? I haven't seen Pickett or Howell play, but a lot of Ole Miss fans are happy Corral is leaving. Plus, a decision will need to be made before the draft or the team will find itself drafting out of desperation, which has done wonders for franchises like Clev, Det, Jax...

Wilson or Rodgers won't happen. It will cost way too much for the franchise. Sure, they can gut the roster again to clear cap space, get rid of some cheap contracts by trading away draft picks then relying on undrafted FAs. Then in 3-5 years, the team will be in worse shape than it is now. Hell of a gamble for a chance at 1-2 rings, if they blow it, it will cost people their jobs (of course Payton & Loomis will be safe)

What about 2021 Brees, because it would have been an older version of that

Locker room loves the guy. He works hard in all aspects, love how he works to deepen his relationship w Sean (it'll never be Brees-like, but that's ok).

Don't know how anybody looks at his 2021 and isn't open to seeing what he can do with better playmaker around him. If he can be Tannehill-like in his ability to be an asset and not a liability in terms of leading the offense (as his "floor"), why don't you do it?

He's also now fully comfortable running Sean's offense. What's not to like?

The improvement I saw from Jameis in Tampa to this season was pretty massive. All that without even starting a game in the time between. I think he will only get better. The numbers he produced this year was done without a single drafted receiver for most of those games. Add in a MT13 and possibly a first round receiver from this draft.

Don’t get me wrong, I’d love to have Wilson. But we kind of need our draft picks. I’m guessing it would take 2-3 firsts and a young elite player. That just doesn’t make sense to me.

Whether people like it or not, Jameis has a personality that is a great fit in New Orleans. He’s matured a ton and is very well respected in that locker room.

He’s got a great deep ball that will help fill a void we have missed for a while now.

Jameis has us in the playoffs as the 2-3 seed if he didn’t get hurt.
Matt Ryan has not taken his team to the playoffs in years. Russel Wilson has also not done much with his team in a few years.
Stop it. You don’t know what you are talking about.

Excellent post.

Exactly why I wouldn't trade the farm for Russel Wilson.

-Michael Thomas comes back
-Draft a stud receiver
-Hope injuries don't plague your all pro left tackle
-Hope injuries don't plague your all pro running back
-You have a championship caliber defense

Winston and this team can make a run with the above.

Dude had fifteen tds throwing to undrafted free agents that wouldn’t be top three WRs on any team in the league.

His only real meltdown was the panthers Covid game where Ruiz had to play center and couldn’t make one correct blocking call.

I’d say re sign him and bring in someone else to compete.

Jameis is the best free agent QB in 2022.

You take Winston back if the price is right and if you can’t find someone better. I’d take him back for hopefully cheap so you can give the man some receivers to throw to and to keep all of our players who need new contracts.

He Sucks,We don't play street ball in New Orleans. He may be great in a Ravens uniform,But he can't read a Defense to save his life..when McCOy was out just showed how smart he really isn't. when he breaks a huddle he has no clue what he's gonna do,or where the ball is gonna go. Saints need a QB that can set up his players and know when to release the ball. Winston was leashed by payton, his numbers are not because of him.If not for an early running game and good defense,he's not 5-2...please watch he had no clue what to do each play. Trevor out played him and knew how to read a defense.. Trevor never had a starting O-line in front of him either.Trevor is not the future but he is what we had and was way better then Winston...

Teddy still had M Thomas and competent receivers.

Jameis had no decent recievers yet had 14 tds to 2 ints.

Trolling right? Did Simeon throw 5TDs in a game this season in his first start? Beginners luck I guess.

Winston is a FA but I guarantee you that he doesn't want to play for any other team but the Saints. Remember he took less money to ride the pine instead of start. And you say he sucks? Better find a new team because he's starting next year.

Most of the homers on here think Jameis could win a Superbowl. Deranged bunch on here with obvious mental issues.
