Jameis is a compensatory pick at worst

I’m a believer in the Saints Taysom Hill experiment, I actually think he’s the next QB after Drew, but even if Jameis is the next starting QB or not, the Saints only need to convince one team that he’s worth 70 mil like Teddy and that’s another 3rd round pick.

I don’t think he’s bad insurance in case Taysom actually sucks at quarterback. If he doesn’t show Payton anything then he’s gone in a year. But if he shows Payton something this year then maybe he’s worth keeping around.

He can’t. the contract numbers they use reset on April 27 which is when Jameis contract will become approved. It’s why the Saints waited until after the draft to sign him
