I really like it. He's as good as his O-Line is imo.

He should give us productive snaps.

Average running the ball (that could change with a better O-Line), but very good in the passing game. LINK

Since he's a 3rd down back...I'm assuming that he can pass block somewhat decent. We probably got him for league minimum too. Under the radar signing like Rishard Matthews imo.

Imagine having to defend Kamara, Murray, & Rodgers. There's always the threat of the RB catching the ball out of the backfield. You can't ever cheat up on defense. Nothing is guaranteed, but I'd say he's the favorite to win the #3 RB job. Dwayne Washington & his ST's are the probable favorites for the #4 job.

Saints sign veteran running back familiar to NFC South to compete behind Alvin Kamara, Latavius Murray LINK

The New Orleans Saints are shaking up the back end of their running back rotation, adding veteran running back Jacquizz Rodgers and waiving running back Robert Kelley, head coach Sean Payton revealed at his press conference Saturday. Rodgers, a fifth-round pick in the 2011 NFL Draft, has played eight seasons with three different teams. He has spent seven of those seasons in the NFC South, playing with the Atlanta Falcons from 2011 to 2014 and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 2016 to 2018.

Rodgers, 29, has 545 carries for 2,067 yards and nine touchdowns in his career, averaging 3.7 yards per carry. He had 33 carries for 106 yards (3.2 yards per carry) and a touchdown in a reserve role for the Buccaneers last year.

Rodgers will be battling for a running back spot on the Saints' roster, which has Alvin Kamara as the starter and Latavius Murray as the de facto replacement for Mark Ingram, who signed with the Baltimore Ravens this offseason.

Dwayne Washington is a candidate for the final running back spot in New Orleans. In his first season with the Saints, Washington had 27 carries for 154 yards as the No 3 running back, averaging 5.3 yards per carry. Undrafted free agent Devine Ozigbo also a case for the No. 3 running back job, but will need to outperform Rodgers and Washington in the preseason.

Kelley had 168 carries for 704 yards and six touchdowns in his rookie season with the Washington Redskins in 2016, but just 66 carries for 202 yards and three touchdowns since (3.1 yards per carry). The Saints signed Kelley earlier this week.

Yep. Broncos.

Rodgers was easily the next best target imo.

Here's the F.A. RB list from a couple of days ago...

#02 - Jay Ajayi (26) - Murray is healthy. Not a need.
#07 - Marshawn Lynch (33) - Murray is healthy. Not a need.
#08 - Alex Collins (25) - Injured. Likely suspension.
#15 - Theo Riddick (28) - Signed with Denver.
#21 - Jeremy Hill (26) - Injured.
#30 - Jacquizz Rodgers (29)
#32 - Chris Ivory (31)
#33 - De'Anthony Thomas (26)
#38 - Kapri Bibbs (26)
#39 - LeGarrette Blount (32)
#41 - Fozzy Whittaker (30)
#42 - Stevan Ridley (30)

CSP seems to really be looking for better competition for the back up pass catching rb.
Really wanted Riddick.

I guess I’m still a little confused as to why we’re still rummaging through the bargain bins looking for RBs.

D’Onta Foreman was just waived by Houston. I like that kid A LOT. Maybe bring him into camp too. Couldn’t hurt.

Damn. I'd take a chance on him. I assume it would cost a waiver claim to acquire him.

Worth a shot i guess but they cut him due to poor work habits. I doubt Payton wants that.

"The Texans placed RB D’Onta Foreman on waivers. They weren’t happy with his work habits. RBs on the roster are veterans Josh Ferguson, Buddy Howell and Taiwan Jones and undrafted rookies Damarea Crockett and Karan Higdon Jr."
